My aunt who’s a truck driver brings her cat with her and I know someone who is a truck driver who brings a pot belly pig with them. As far as I understand it, there isn’t really any rules for or against bringing pets when trucking.

My birth mother is a trucker. She has two little doggos. People take they whole ass kids with them too, especially those that need 24 hr attention. I think you can bring a companion. You just gotta know the risks if anything happens, ya know? If you get pulled over, make sure they have a driving regulated device or enclosure.

I used to be a trucker and I worked for a company that the majority of the drivers own their own trucks and just go from place to place picking up and dropping off trailers. It was common for those drivers to bring their spouses pets kids you name it. Because why not it's their truck as long as the load got delivered safe and on time the company didn't care
