Kubrick was a perfectionist!. Malcolm McDowell said the same about the simulated drowning scene in A Clockwork Orange. At points he thought ‘I’m gonna die on this set filming this scene...’ when he came up from the trough after every take he was legitimately gasping for air! It’s like Alien. The chest burst scene...they knew it was coming but didn’t know when so the casts reaction is their actual reaction. Sigourney Weavers ‘Oh god!’ haunts me even more now I know the truth behind it 😂 Kubrick’s work definitely shows his passion for horror and his will for everything to be perfect in everything he did in his life’s work. Rest in peace you crazy SoB!
