⁠@@KingOfGaymesas someone who also has dyslexia, us making the jokes is usually just a defense mechanism. i don’t think people understand how much it actually affects us though. most people who have dyslexia have been bullied and made fun of for it. whenever we have to read something out loud now, we’ll often make a joke about it first as a way to beat others to it or even just to apologize/explain it. someone being patient and understanding would literally mean so much to us. it’s already difficult for us to deal with, we don’t need everyone else making jokes about it too
