This is an idea I've wanted to test out for a while, and it was great to see it work out! This shape was accomplished by a series of double sided cuts and only 3 bits:
1. 1/4" End Mill - Roughing Pass; Speed: 22000 RPM, Feed: 1800 mm/m
2. 1/4" Ball Nose - Finishing Pass; Speed: 20000 RPM, Feed 1800 mm/m
3. 1/8" End Mill - Dowel Pocketing; Speed: 24000 RPM, Feed 1800 mm/m
I highly recommend playing around with this technique and trying to make objects that otherwise would require a 4 or even 5 axis CNC. Can't wait to see what you do!
Let me know if you have any questions in the comments. Thanks for watching!

This is a perfect example of how a well made video doesn't get the traction it deserves. The quality of this video is as good as any video made from a educational KZbinr with millions of subs. I wish KZbin would get better at suggesting these kinds of videos. This video is short, packed with incredible information, easy to digest, and the content is perfectly associated with the title. I am a subscriber and I hope you continue making these great videos!

Totally agree. If you are not "selling" the dumbed-down narrative "du jour" and if you are not targeting brainless kids with 15-second dopamine kicks, YT doesn't love you.

This is brilliant! I have a 30"x30" homebuilt cnc and about 3.8 metric tons of scrap wood lying around. You've given me a great idea of what to do with it.

What a great concept! The vase looks beautiful, and as you said, it's all a bunch of lines so you can't see the seams, pure genius. Thank you.

I've been wanting to do this for a while. We followed the same lines of thought, cool! It's still a technique that's on my list to do. Thanks for the video!

interesting, why not split the final vase in the middle making 2 parts and milling each side using a thicker wood and then glue. is it not easier to do?

Definitely possible for this design, but wanted to test the multi-part stacking method for future, more complex shapes!
