Chandra’s Incinerator and Satyr Firedancer are great ways to control the board that can come down early. With Solphim in play you can take out pretty big creatures too

Sayter fire dancer is a great choice as it will turn that six damage to the players and do it to one of each of their creatures. browbeat is a red spell that would be pretty good in here as well for some additional draw or an opponent will take ten damage with our commander out. I'd also suggest Rune horn hellkite for its grave yard abilities and since there is a lot of incentive to discard I think anger would be a good choice. Locket of Yesterdays puts in a lot of work in this deck too easily making your dragons approach's cost only one red mana to cast. would also consider upping the dragons approach's to twenty five

Thank you for all the suggestions! The locket especially is a must have in this list and I totally missed that one. The other card advantage cards I think would be really good too to keep the carnage going.

@@MadHatterYT I am very excited for this commander to take over as the lead for my DA deck

With Solphim out, Satyr fire dancer will actually deal 12 damage to target creature. Satyr will see 6 dmg from DA, and then Solphim will double that!

Great idea to choose this commander. Want to build a approach deck for myself also considering that commander. But I think 20 dragons approach is way to low.

Thank you! I wasn't sure what number to start at for them. I figured a 5th was good but I've never build a DA deck before. What would you suggest?

@@MadHatterYT most decks run 30+ especially if you want to run the stone

@@alexthatsme. Damn that's a lot lol I'll have to look into it more if I make an approach deck in the future.

What other cards you think also synergize with Solphim? What sort of ways did you build a Solphim deck? I'd love to hear from you so leave a comment below!

Just play Heartless Hidetsugu and end the game with one tap.

lmfao I forgot that card does the damage, I was thinking it was just life lost. Great suggestion!

how many fire approaches would you put in the deck

Birgi, Leyline Tyrant, and if you want to be mean: Grapeshot and Mizzix’s Mastery. Happy spellslinging! Hope your table forgives you lol

not my kind of deck, but a cool little set up nonetheless

Probably a cool Commander but in Standard for whatever reason, there are SO MANY cards that deal direct damage but somehow don't count as "non-combat damage" and won't be doubled. Like the 2 life Sheoldred pings you for every time you draw a card. I built a whole deck around creatures that all had similar effects and literally NONE of them worked. Why, WotC? Why do you hate me?!
@MadHatterYT Жыл бұрын
lol really?? I haven't played standard in years idk the meta right now, that's sad though. Imagine if Sheoldred could be doubled up lmao that'd be gross.
@CERTAIND00M Жыл бұрын
@@MadHatterYT Oh, absolutely. Though, Sheoldred is just gross all on her own. I'm honestly surprised she still hasn't been banned. And you can blame Arena for all the Standard I play. I love Commander but only really when I'm playing people IRL. There's something about that mode that just feels cruel when I'm not playing against friends. If you're curious though, my current favorite commander is Kodama of the West Tree. She's simple but God help you if I get my Roaring Earth out.

Well, about a year late, but Solphim cares about things that say "damage" on them. Sheoldred makes people "lose life." Same result of dealing 2 damage and losing 2 life, but different methods/mechanics. Like subtracting 2 and adding a negative 2. Magic is very much a fine print game.
