These chords are TRICKY to play, but are amazing for creating interesting soundscapes! Try them out with a capo on 5th fret if your hands can't quite make the stretch! Enjoy :)

Great tutorial Darrell, it keeps it interesting for even the most fluent guitarist. I love chords in general, they are part of the foundation, the most important element of creating music. I love any chord with ninths, they have a kind of spiritual feel. You have taken it to another level I did not know even existed!!

It was all melancholy and beautiful and then there was that major note and a hole opened up in the floor and swallowed my house as the sky fell down upon my head. Let's not mess with the natural order of things now shall we Mr. Darrell? :P

Lol, my fingers don't spread wide enough to play that first chord! Man, to have your knowledge dude! The way you just rattle off all that technical chord talk is terrific, I wish I could learn all that stuff but alas the old memory banks go on full overload when I try to learn this stuff lol. Beautiful chords for sure!!

Wow, the way you teach guitar is awesome and it seems easier. I am 69 years old person who really wants to improve my skills. All I know is major and minor chords in the first shape I do not know notations I want to follow your lessons since the beginning to learn when do you call a cord a ninth or seventh or six diminish or augmented, etc. I play a little bit only by ear and I can play a song when I see the chords. I appreciate some guidance. Thank you.

Modern music is synthetic fluff, watered down, and lacks creativity. Chords and progressions like this are real music.... I'm used to hearing this in music from 50 years ago or more... but recordings of old music don't have this amazing sound quality. What a treat!!!

❌I utilized and old woven paper Chinese finger prison to pre-stretch the joints a bit. before tackling these trapeze-act fingerings. Worked like a charm for these stretches. These are terrific voicings with a large, open sound. I was expecting some 11th chords thrown in the mix so this was a nice surprise. Thanks. 😷👍

Guys since I brought my first electric guitar and tried to familiarise with its weight etc. I feel my classic totally different . The feeling of holding it is so strange like I have never played classic guitar again . Due to the size difference I feel the classic guitar huge both in neck and body and this discouraged me from playing classic which I love . Any suggestion would be helpful !

@@arjitmishra100 only other thing i can think of for an acoustic is to sand down the saddle slightly until the action is how you want it. Be careful with that, it's pretty easy to take too much off and you might want to take it to a professional if you're uncomfortable doing it.
