Try using Gilding Flakes with a Sunflower Stamp - EASY cardmaking

In this video I show you how easy it is to use gilding flakes in card making with your stamps. I’m using products from IndigoBlu and Alina Crafts but there are many brands of gilding flakes out there and I’m sure you all have a flower stamp in your stash to give it a go!

Thank you ☺️ I haven't tried it but you could give it a go. I think that because you have to make sure the embossing powder is hot when you would normally add foil you might end up blowing gilding flakes everywhere 😅 but worth a try!

This is beautiful and I am missing playing in my craft room!!! Where, oh where did you find a short T-ruler??? I have looked everywhere I could think, but all I could find was 12 inches and up. I don’t use it much at all because it’s just too big.

Beautiful card and well done on decanting the flakes into a bigger tub. I've seen so many demos where the crafter uses the original package. The flakes expand quire a bit so it is just frustrating watching them trying to get the excess flakes back into the tub!

Lovely card I will have to this. I have similar products. New subscriber and liked your video and watched it all the way to the end because I love the fact that you took the time to interact and reply to all your comments especially the later ones I like that. Can you use any other glue for this. I can’t find that glue. I’m in the USA

Thank you so much for watching Lynn. Yes you can use any tacky glue ☺️ so Cosmic Shimmer do a flake and glitter glue, also Anita's Tacky Glue. Scrapbook.com sell a few. If you type in Tacky glue on their website they have one by tonic studios. I hope that helps ☺️

@lynngalvan, I just saw your comment. I found a glue designed for doing gold leafing on wood works well. You should be able to find one in a craft or art store or online. I got mine at Hobby Lobby, but you can just search online for "leafing glue" & it will give several options. Mine is Beacon brand. It dries tacky. Tombow Mono Multi Glue would be another option that's probably even easier to find. It's the one with the green lid. If you apply it & let it dry before putting anything on it, it will then be tacky & then you can add your gilding flakes. Works great for adding metallic foil, too. Don't go with something like Aleene's Tacky Glue, as that doesn't dry tacky. It has to be tacky after it dries to work. Hope this helps! :)

Another gorgeous card! I think the effect of gilding flakes is a lot more artistic and sophisticated than foiling would be, especially for this lovely stamp, and especially because you took the trouble to be selective which colour flakes you were picking out for different areas. Thank you!

I haven’t tried gilding flakes, but I was given transfer foil. I have some tacky glue, maybe they will work.🧐 Very pretty card Laura.❤

Thanks so much! ☺️ Yes I do think tacky glue will work with transfer foil! You can use the tacky glue through a stencil and then foil over it. But you have to wait for the glue to go clear or dry first.
