Its one thing to see how its done, but you show the process behind it and the thinking which is awesome.

Wow, thanks for the walkthrough Mr. Ash! I was almost able to entirely do this room on my own which is a huge improvement from where I was during the telnet section. I had to watch the entire video walkthrough you did for telnet to get through it. But for the FTP section, I felt confident and almost didn't need any help! Thank you once again!

Thx for the gzip tip, was wondering why the hydra command wasn't working on my machine. THM failed to mention such a crucial tip.

Your video was quite engaging and informative, Mr. Ash. I particularly enjoyed the moments when you gracefully handled mistakes, adding a touch of humor to the experience. It was refreshing to witness your real-time thought process when errors occurred, making it relatable and entertaining for the viewers. The video not only provided valuable insights into the working process but also showcased your honesty, which I appreciated. It helped me navigate similar challenges I face in the room I'm currently in on TryHackMe. Your demonstration of how questions can sometimes be confusing resonated with me, making me feel less alone in my struggles. Thank you for investing your time and effort into creating such helpful content. I wish you the best of luck on your journey ahead!

which is the diference between : -t4 and --min-rate 5000 for exemple ?
@mrashco2 ай бұрын
-t4 uses up to 4 parallel connections when scanning a target. So it speeds up the scan process by sending packets to multiple ports simultaneously. --min-rate 5000 sends packets at a minimum rate of 5000 packets per second. This can significantly speed up the scan if your network can handle it. But, scanning too fast can overwhelm the target network and lead to inaccurate results.And firewalls might throttle or block scans exceeding a certain rate.

I dont understand why when I use the same cmd as you for nmap scan it doesnt give me the same results.

Huh, yeah strange. You on the VPN? Always test ping 10.10.10.10 and check you get a response to confirm.

Nope I am using thm's vm. Maybe that's why?
@mrashco Жыл бұрын
@@neverhomepnw Like their "Attack Box"? That should just work as it's already on their network. Still a good idea to ping 10.10.10.10 though just to be sure. Sometimes the boxes do just need to be rebooted also.
