I'm a 3rd generation cosmetologist in my family, and my grandmother used that electric perm machine!! I remember when I was in cosmetology school, she found a few left over metal rods and let me bring them in to show the class. All the teachers were freaking out cause you really don't see them often anymore. It felt cool having a piece of beauty industry history like that!

Learnt about hair perm machines when I was hairdressing years ago. We had to study the history of hair design at hair college. We were told the smell of burnt hair would fill the salon when using those machines. Though they worked, but damaged your hair a fair bit.

I have dimples, but the annoying thing about it is, you can see them when I move my mouth in certain ways, and people think I'm smiling at them, when really I'm not! Also, fun fact, they are technically a deformity, as they are caused by the persons cheek muscles not being formed properly!

I can see that lol. But deformity or not, I’ve still always loved people’s dimples so much! When I was a little girl (around 8yo) I swore I was gonna get those cheek piercings at 18 to give myself dimples 😂 still debating it every now and then at 24yo 🤔🤣

Dimples are a beautiful mutation of the zygomatic major muscle.🥰 They occur when this muscle forms into two pieces. One attaches to the corner of the mouth as intended, the other tethers onto the cheek. This tension is what creates the gorgeous little crevis when smiling. 😍

In the first nose jobs, the skin was connected to the skin under the bicep in cases where skin necrosis was a concern. The people had to keep their arms around their heads. Basically, people had to walk around looking like they were both sniffing their pits and waving like a maniac for at least a few weeks. 😂You should check it out, maybe do a(nother) video about the first cosmetic procedures!
