Peanuts in your Coke is an old Country thing. I did it when I was a kid. Barbara Mandrel mentioned it in "I Was Country When Country Wasn’t Cool". Pepsi and milk, commonly referred to as “Pilk,” has a rich history dating back to the 1970s sitcom “Laverne & Shirley.” The show’s character Laverne DeFazio, played by Penny Marshall, frequently consumed Pepsi mixed with milk, often referring to it as “milk and Pepsi.” In regards to ice cream and crackers, try ice cream and pretzel chunks. Blue Bell had a flavor called sweet and salty crunch that was milk chocolate covered pretzel pieces in vanilla ice cream and it was fire.

The OJ, coffee creamer and 7-up is very similar to a drink called an Orange Julius that was made by a popular mall kiosk chain in Canada - they used fresh squeezed OJ, a big scoop of their secret ingredient - which was just sweetened powdered coffee creamer, and chipped ice, topped up with soda water. okay, I'm going to go make that Eggo/7-Up/OJ drink. That being said....one of my favorite things to eat is getting some good quality pita bread (the ones with the space inside...not the bready flat kinds), and you put Prego Spaghetti sauce on it, add big chunks of mushrooms (not the sliced ones...the whole button ones in a jar), cover with some mozzarella and sometimes a little crumbles of goat cheese. It's SUCH a good pizza, even though it's spaghetti sauce. The pita crisps up, and the outer edges of the pita that have spaghetti sauce caramelize into a sticky delicious edge. Highly recommend!

I grew up on coke and peanuts and I've never seen someone use a glass. The logic is that in my great grandpa's generation when you had a long walk to and from school or work, you could buy a packet of peanuts and a glass bottle coke for not much money. Then you take a sip or two and fill the space with the nuts. After a minute or two the flavors meld and you can get a few peanuts in your mouth to crunch on with each swig, and you can walk along and have a salty sweet treat without needing to stop to eat. My gramps taught me about it and I've carried it into adulthood.
@J-Tiger73 ай бұрын
Same here- never seen it drank from a glass or cup. We’d buy a glass bottled Coke preferably or plastic bottle if that was all they had & empty the pack of salted peanuts in there.
