Thank you for highlighting a place that helps seniors. They are often looked over. We have a wonderful place in MN called Granny's Closet that helps seniors and disabled people. I love being a secret angel (that's the organization's Christmas program) for them. They ask for the most basic home goods, and are so thankful!

Not the same thing as the charity mentioned in today’s video. But my grandmother started dated a man a while back, and they got engaged recently. He’s an 81 year old double cancer survivor who lost his wife years ago, and doesn’t really have and family of his own. He spent thanksgiving with us this year and he started crying solely because I hugged him when they were leaving. He was so happy to have a family to spent holidays with. Holidays can be VERY HARD for the elderly. He’s going to be spending the night with us Christmas Eve, and I can’t wait. He collects trains, and I’ve decided to buy him a special train ornament, since everyone in our family has a special ornament on the tree. Since he’s in our family how, he needs one too! But he has a woman who comes and visits him often, and she came from one of those “adopt a senior” foundations. I definitely think it’s important that we all try to make a change in someone’s life, if they’re alone for the holidays. And unfortunately the elderly are often overlooked.

I am so grateful for the organization that you chose to help. Although I am only 50, I have been disabled my whole life by a combination of diseases acquired through a tick bite at age 9 (wasn’t diagnosed or treated for 27 years, so they were too entrenched to easily cure.) When my mother got old enough to be unable to take care of me or I of her, we were fortunate to find a cottage adjacent to an assisted living facility where we could bring our cats to live with us. While here weathering out the pandemic I realized how many residents-although not necessarily abandoned-feel left alone and treated as outcasts. I am planning to do everything I can over the holiday season (which might be challenging as the main building is in lockdown) to try to add some beauty to their lives through my beadwork, and I can’t imagine any people on the planet who appreciate everything that you do for them to this extent. If ever there were people where helping them could leave you feeling aglow, well this is where to find them. You will never find people more appreciative and effusive with praise as these. I hope your family has a very Merry Christmas, and immensely grateful that you can do the traveling for me, and I can enjoy the sights vicariously through these videos. From Jackson’s reaction to the Santa cavalcade, I can already tell that he’s gotten a taste for the ladies.😉

I work for United Health Care and on our site we are filling stockings for our local nursing homes. They need things like warm socks, chap stick, blankets, dominoes, playing cards, etc... We often think about children at Christmas time but there are also a lot of senors who have no one and are all alone during the holidays. So if you are able think about them as well this Christmas.
