Nice little switch. I love the clear case on it so you can see it actually working! Great review!

It also has a VERY satisfying click sound. A true mechanical switch :)

Thanks, Bryan... Now I'll have to order some and upgrade my runout sensor mounts

Hi Great product but on major flaw that nobody had though about it cause event filament is breaking inside filament loader it will no longer to be able to detect it! Cause it primary function is only detect missing filament! It's need filament movement detector like consumption it will be done by adding a roller that will detect if roller is stopping! With that feature you could say 100% bullet proof on both case

Where do you get the connector for the terminated wired side? Why didn't triangle labs provide with the sensor?
@byronkobialko34425 жыл бұрын
Is there settings you need to change to install this sensor?
@BryanBakerXBrav5 жыл бұрын
Apart from standard runout enabling code, the only settings I changed was: #define FIL_RUNOUT_INVERTING true #define FIL_RUNOUT_PULLDOWN

I want to get this sensor but apparently, I need an upgrade to my board so I can support this device. Do you have a link to where I can purchase that also?
@spidey4fun4 жыл бұрын
I bought this sensor for my cr10s but it lights up both red and green at the same time. A strong green, dull red with filament and same green bright red without filament. But no mater what state it's in it faults my CR10s. Did you need to configure anything? Wiring was gnd, active and signal as required.

Sounds like an induction issue (voltage regulators on motorcycles expirience the same issue). There may be ways around it, but you should return it.

Another person said connecting middle to ground kills daisy chain but fixes issue. Still, complaint is in order.

Will this work on a SKR V1.3 board ?

Yup! I installed it to my Zmax limit on the board as shown in the video, and defined the runout pin as P1_24.

Just a quick PSA: DO NOT GO TO THE URL STAMPED ON THE SWITCH! I'm guessing they don't use the URL anymore.
@sammc44 жыл бұрын
just got this switch, but its constantly blinking filament out, even after putting in the settings you used, and alternatively what was recommended from the site. Made sure its connected to correct points. Green lights up fine, and if signal wire is connected its blinking! so frustrating =-( Dont know if it matters that I'm using stock cr10s creality 2.1 board, its got a filament sensor spot that i just tapped onto.

Did you get it sorted? I bought this sensor also after watching this video and it's giving me the same issues. Green and red leds on.. faults my Cr10s.
@SimonReason4 жыл бұрын
Hi, you say in your video you got this upgrade specifically for a CR10S. I have the same problem as @SAMMC4, when connected it blinks red and permanently returns a filament out result. I've check the status using the M119 command in Octoprint and it appears to be returning the same state as the stock sensor but it must be flickering and triggering the runout. Do you have a link to the instructions on how you installed it to get round this problem? At the moment on the AliExpress (UK) site, the feedback indicates this is NOT compatiable with a CR10S? Many thanks for your time, it looks cool in the video if I could only get it to work :-)
@williammac42884 жыл бұрын
If you're running octoprint, why not connect it directly to the raspberry pi? You can use the filament runout sensor reloaded plugin and run custom runout scripts. WIll make your life so much easier.

Any luck sorting out the issues. I've the same problem with it on my CR10s.
@spidey4fun4 жыл бұрын
Here's the fix. It will work on a CR10 with a slight mod. You need to solder a wire between the middle pin on the switch and the ground (black) wire. Just dont daisey chain it after this mod. Mine is now working fine.

Hi - i bought this switch after watching the video, and suffering through badness with my S5 sensor. On the S5, i checked the pins for SVG against the creality switch, and there was continuity. on the triangle labs switch, i know i'd need to repin if i cut and attach to my existing creality wiring, but my concern is on the triangle labs switch, the pins didn't seem to register continuity unless depressed - do i have to make some firmware changes, like switch open or closed normally? if so, i'd appreciate any guidance. lastly, i'm considering cutting the head off my stock creality sensor cable, leaving a few inches from the connector and putting dupont connectors on it to attach the triangle labs wiring. I'd appreciate any thoughts or suggestions whether this sounds good or there may be a better solution - many many thanks!
@ironheadrondo55962 жыл бұрын
May not be much help, but you could run the output through a NOT gate if there is no software solutions. I know not of your printer, so my only advice on that is to make sure your not lowering the insulation (my immediate concern with this switch was alot of low specific heat contact, it's like a little radiator. With that it seems your idea better, due to further proximity from extruder; unless I read you wrong)
@ironheadrondo55962 жыл бұрын
And yeah, you can hook to existing wire or port, it's basically just an extension cord to that tube. Using 5 volt signals I really doubt any issue with a tiny bit of extra length.

Cant thank you enough.

For anyone using this sensor and printermods.com direct drive, I designed a mount for the sensor output to feed directly into the extruder. Cheers! www.thingiverse.com/thing:4378338 If you got a raspberry pi running octoprint, just hook the filament runout sensor to the pi directly and download the filament runout sensor reloaded plugin! Way easier!

I have a hard time trusting any product from a company without an easily find-able and accessible website, or any company that is using the same as that of a different company producing more specialized equipment: www.trilabs.net/ is what comes up in an internet search for "Triangle Labs".
