It didn't look bad, you have to work with it a little more. I have fine hair, as well, and learned twisting my hair when wet give me alot of shrinkage. Now I wash, blow dry (not bone straight) and twist. Also, with fine hair we can weigh our hair down with using several products at one time. I use to use 5 different oils, Ego gel, leave in conditioner, curling cream and then sprayed it with water (I know alot of products). I had the definition and softness but it weighed my hair down, no volume and tight roots. Now I put the leave in in once a week, use Olive or Coconut Oil and one of these three curling products: Creme Of Nature, Cantu (they both work good on natural hair) or Almond and Avocado . Curling Creme by Design Essentials (Black owned product). I wash my hair, blow dry with leave in conditioner and heat protector (Silk Elements heat protector), use one of the previously mentionted oils and curling creme, twist and roll my ends with perm rods (ends only). The next day my hair is soft (no tight roots), coils are defined, I have volume and length, oh yeah, make sure to clip the ends, a little at a time. Good luck, don't give up, keep trying until you find a combination of products that work for you. Btw, cute baby! 😄

Denese Adkisson. With this method how long does your style last? Also, how do you preserve it?

Hi! I had to learn to use much larger sections for volume. No more than 12-15 twists. And use mousse/styling foam. It causes hair to be light and flowy.

I think for thin hair u should not use much product on it if you want volume... that will just weigh it down. Some straight back cornrows and grease on the ends.. and u will have a foxy afro ;)

My hair is thin like yours too especially at the front and I always feel like it doesn’t look good until after I’m dressed and dolled up a bit then maybe I change the part from the middle to the side. Play with it. You’ll eventually find your sweet spot. It looks good to me but it must of course look good to you for you to wear it so good luck 😉 and cuuuttteee baby!

You and I are in the same boat. My hair comes out like that too and I just don’t like it and I don’t know what to do but I’m suppose to not be wearing any weave and it’s just all bad over here

I know this is a year ago, but putting just the top in a bun with the back down will be cute for our thinnish hair in a twist out. Oooorrr two side buns with the back down. Anywho, you tried and did a good detailed video! It's always good to show the good with the bad when it comes to our (thin) 4c, yet Beautiful, type hair ❤️

If you have any suggestions please do tell. Just started this natural hair journey after decades of weaves, wigs etc. So any advice for this newbie will be greatly appreciated 👍

@@leazettevalentin2897 Wash and deep condition every week (this helps with keeping your hair healthy and moisturized). Also, buy some aphogee 2 minute reconstructor and use it every 2 weeks (that keeps your hair strong and prevent breakage tremendously)! Lastly, every wash day twist your hair up with a leave in and Shea butter mixture and leave it twisted until next wash day. Braids are ok for long term protective styles. However, In my experience, small braids cause breakage and thinning if worn over 8 weeks. I would go for medium to big braids. Believe it or not, you can wash your braids. To keep them looking good, after washing your braids oil them down with extra virgin olive oil. That will keep the from frizzing and your real hair moisturized. I hope this helps!

@@leazettevalentin2897 One last thing, clip your ends every 6 months. Not any major cutting; just dusting the ends would suffice.

Thank you for this video. My natural hair is thin but more wavy than curly. I tried many different products and finally found my niche with the old school curl activator Hawaiian Silky 14-in-1 🙂

We have the same texture hair. Thin and curly. But what I would’ve did was put a head band to smooth the edges back.💛💛💛 Love you girl!

I know im late on this. I apologize for the 1yr late comment. Ur video popped up in my feed. Im wondering how's ur healthy hair journey thus far? On ur wash day, have u tried garlic, ginger, and oinion rinse twice per month? I leave it on for 45 mins. Dont get me wrong believe me i totally understand er'thang duznt wrk for er'body. We hafta keep trying different things to see wut wrks for us as an individual then tweek it if needed as needed. Try this for approximately 5 mos to see if u see a difference. To oil ur scalp(dont be heavy handed when applying it) and massage (massage scalp daily for 5 mins)u may hafta to go back to using old skool methods like....hair grease like sulfur-8. I did this it took 6-8mos for me to see a difference bcuz of slow grow, my age, stress, hormonal changes. I hope u find this helpful as u continue on ur healthy hair journey. Tfs ur journey with us.

One thing I know about twist/flat twist on thin hair is you got to style it and let it do what it do for the next 24 hours. The next day results always look really good. Your twist looks good to me though.

Well done. Try using a lighter moisturiser like a milk. Use a dime size on each quarter or half of you head and then use a softer hold gel
