Juvias Place has quickly become a favorite of mine...and I'm always amazed at how well some of the intense colorful shades play with neutrals. I've got a forest green matte that can pop in an emerald eye look or become a neutral deepening shade for my outer corner. I dread panning that green lol...

the nyx concealer serum is so amazing i finally got it a couple months ago and i literally use one pump of it on my entire face and it gives the perfect coverage! i don’t necessarily prefer it under the eyes, as i have a concealer that creases less on me and looks better in my opinion but i really love it as a foundation!

The wet and wild brush is perfect for the kind of blush you used it for! I constantly go back to it for sheer application of blush toppers, to blend out pigmented blush when I went in a little too hard, to diffuse the edges of eyeshadow if makeup is done but edges are a little harsh. It's like a fluffy blending brush for your face 😂

Has anyone else mentioned yet the SHADIEST thing about these awards? If Allure gives you an award in your category, and the brand prints that seal of approval on their packaging, or advertises in any way that they won the Allure award, that brand PAID Allure for the right to tell consumers in any advertising that they won. Those seals you see on brands? That brand is forced to pay Allure to use it, even though they won the award!!!

I've heard a similar story about the J. D. Power & Associates award. A company can pay J.D. $1 million to be given the award. So the award is basically worthless. 🙄

I see the aspect of it feeling shady but I can see some version of the other side - because the seal is a well known Allure logo- (and I do not know all of the ins/outs of copyright law) Allure needs some system which prevents any ole company from using the logo and pretending to be one of the winners. But again, paying to advertise the winning does seem a good bit like buying the winner status.

@@missyscarborough1301 I don’t think it’s shady in that sense. I feel it’s like a cash grab for Allure. I agree, there would have to be a way to make sure brands and companies cannot just slap a logo resembling Allure’s and claiming an accolade they did not win. But, I feel, in this day and age, Allure could do that without demanding that a brand pay to simply take credit for an award Allure granted them! It is similar to an Olympic athlete needing to pay the IOC in order to display or wear their medal. I know that the athlete is not a business, but the principle is the same, I believe!

I loooove Juvias Place eye shadow sooo much! I bought the Juvias place Rebel Army little 4 pan palette last year on a whim ($5 clearance), not sure I would really use more than the matte forest green I was lusting after. WOW I cannot believe how much I use it. Turns out shimmery (omg the formula, perfection even on wrinkly eyes, i wish every drugstore shimmer was so good) neon spring green is pretty wearable, and the rest of the palette makes it into both green and neutral looks - I love a deep jewel or nearly neutral sooo much. Plus even when I wear the neon, it looks classy - this brand does frugal glam in a more sophisticated way. Lol I bought a $21 huda micro palette (first full price higher end palette since 2011!) to pair with it because I could not stop thinking about pale olive/moss looks & julia adams made me fall in love with it. I rarely buy palettes, I get most of mine in my boxycharm subscription, but I've already started checking Juvias Place first for shades I want. I get the impression that most white creators either don't know about the brand or think it doesn't work well on fair skin, but noooo it's for everyone, it just celebrates dark skinned women and African-diaspora-based culture in its aesthetic.

The lash primer is a game changer. I’ve been using it since it first dropped and I no longer need lash serum bc this does the job. It’s the best one around and luv that it’s black.

@@chrisbecker4412 So far, I've tried their eyeshadows (3 palettes, two colorful and one neutral), their powder blush duos and what they call a powder foundation (I don't agree that it is a powder foundation but it is an absolutely gorgeous powder). I plan to try their eye primer next time I run out of the Milani one and eventually want to try their liquid foundation as well.

13:01 I HAVE tried that as foundation but wasn't as enthused w/the end result like I am when I use a loose powder formulation. I DESPISE using tinted powders as a finishing powder because REGARDLESS what's underneath, it ALWAYS - WITHOUT FAIL - looks EXTREMELY cakey. I have even tried using another brush & that doesn't help neither.

What I think makes the most difference in your beautiful face, was the mascara primer (!), the mascara, and the Turquoise liner! Everything else of course was divine, but the above 3 items brought your overall makeup to a new and quite beautiful place I haven't seen before! You have the best eyelashes but IT'S TOTALLY WOW TONIGHT! As well, the Turquoise liner just brought an unusual treat to your overall makeup look :) which I LOVE! A completely "new" look, yet in no way "too out there..." Love this video (as always)!

I LOVE No 7’s Lift & Luminate pressed powder for my under eyes! It sinks so nicely into the skin and make ur under eyes look flawless. I have to try the loose powder.

I LOVE the Skyn Iceland Hydro Cool Firming Eye Gels - They stick under the eyes BUT the outer part is like fabric/paper feel (no product, or stickiness on it) and it comes up on the edges of my eyes so I can apply them under the eye while I do my eyeshadow and the work as like eyeshadow guards instead of tape and catch fallout if there is any, while also depuffing and moisturizing my under eyes and then I remove them to apply my concealer and rest of my makeup. My concealer always looks flawless when I use them! They aren’t cheap so I save them for when I really want to look absolutely flawless or really need some depuffing under the eyes. But they are AMAZING! I used to never really use under eye masks because they’d slide around everywhere and I hated it and could never just sit or lay down while wearing them 😂

I love the Olive and June quick dry line (top coat and polishes) - as a mom of a 14-month-old, I’m always chasing him so I don’t have time to wait for my nails to dry. The polish always looks good and dries super fast when you use the quick dry polish and top coat!

The Allie Awards would be much more exciting for those of us who value your wonderful opinion and are faithful followers. 💗💄 With the economy the way it is and most living from paycheck to paycheck, I’m guessing most of us cannot afford high end products and live vicariously through dupes and other equally as good drug store products. 8:25 Correct me if I am wrong, but I believe that in order to compete for an allure award, a brand has to submit their products to be considered. I don’t know if there is a cost to that or not… But I wouldn’t be surprised if there was. Edit: I just looked it up and the brands DO need to submit items for consideration. As far as I can tell, the only fee is when you are wanting to compete in the “clean” category.

I really enjoy my Wet n Wild brushes. They make a small angled brush that I use every day to apply my bronzer. These brushes stay in rotation in my brush collection, and most of them I picked up at Dollar Tree!! I am SO happy with my new shade of the Elf Halo Glow Liquid Filter. I am super pale, and purchased the lightest new shade. It's a WINNER!

when it comes to drugstore makeup brushes, I've used all of wet n wilds and a decent amount of elfs. BUT last christmas my husband got me a set by Eco Tools and they are absolutely my favorite brushes. they SO SOFT and they have a decent amount of density that the wet n wild brushes are lacking. I also noticed theyre staying together better than my elf brushes, eventually the glue in those that attaches it to the handle comes loose. its totally fixable, but I'd rather that not happen. Eco Tools also sells a matching soap to go with their brushes and its really nice and got a lot of old residue out! I wish people talked about them more ❤

I agree about the Alba sunscreen. I have it and am also pale and this suscreen drives me nuts with how thick it is and how hard it is to blend into the skin. I use it on days I'll be working outside or exercising and simply need suscreen that won't run into my eyes and sting.
