From a former festivals cast member, the reason a lot of the items you guys got were priced so bad is because they weren’t priced by Disney. Any location that doesn’t wear a green shirt (mexico, France, Italy, Japan, and China) are third party locations partnered with the restaurant at that pavilion. So those companies just super overcharge every year. Kinda sucks but 🤷🏻‍♀️

That actually makes a lot of sense. Not only do they need to recoup their time and cost of food/equipment, etc. I’m sure they are paying Disney a lot just to be there.

Disney should get blamed for it. They are making the decision to run that part of their business that way. They could run all the locations if they wanted to. They also could cap the price the booths charge.

Double coincidence while watching this one tonight. I texted my husband "mm good soup" while eating soup and then Jen says the exact same thing seconds after. I then paused to get mint chip ice cream for dessert, come back and Tim says mint chocolate chip ice cream is one of the best desserts. Just synced up with this one tonight 😂

The deconstructed French Onion Soup is the highlight of the festival for me. It's so creamy and the flavor is very well rounded. I would order 5 more if I went back!

I think it's so sweet and thoughtful that disney decided to have the festival so that Jen could enjoy yummy food from all over the world while pregnant with baby boy. Lol, but for real thats awesome that Jen gets to enjoy such yummy small bites at Disney while growing another mini person.

Love this video! It does seem like all the prices have gone up significantly, but as somebody who owns a food-based business I can confidently say that almost all ingredients these days have almost doubled in price especially things like butter and eggs. That’s probably why the prices seem so astronomical on top of it just being typical expensive Disney prices!

Black Forest gateaux was a classic dessert in the UK in the 80’s when I was growing up. It was my dads favourite and he always got if we went out for dinner, reminds me of him every time I see it.

You guys should check out Raising House and Home's video. Her husband had two strokes at Epcot. They had to cut their Disney trip short and are finally going back this year. It is a really sweet story about Disney and their customer service. I suggested your channel and videos to her also.

I was there on opening day as well. Went back yesterday. I love this festival! I was really bummed though. The short rib in Germany is so delicious and is one of my festival favorites, but I can’t get it this year. They can’t guarantee no cross contamination and I’m deathly allergic to cherries. When Jen said the Black Forest cake was a great way to end the day, all I could think of was how it would end my day for sure!

Carne asada is usually made with adobe and lime and slightly grilled, so that’s what you are tasting. lime juice, garlic, cilantro, olive oil, and chiles is another marinade for carne asada.

Jen, you can buy chocolate and strawberry mousse mixes at grocery store in the baking aisle. You could make your own layered mousse deserts at home. Just suggestion for at home vlog. Also you can make your own flan using box mix and they are pretty good.

Hi Tim & Jenn! Great video! I love to hear your food reviews. We, too, really liked the beef in Mexico. We met you there at the end of your trip at Epcot. It was me, my husband, and our daughter. I’m wondering if that dish from Mexico is really plant based because refried beans are not usually plant based. They are usually made with animal lard. Might be why the sign didn’t have it marked that way. 🤷🏼‍♀️

Possibly but I think it is vegetarian and not vegan. The queso fresco is cheese, which makes it not plant based. Similar to the ravioli in Italy which doesn’t have meat, but does have cheese and is thus not listed as plant based
