Glad there is some decent BBQ back in the resort. I still have not forgiven them for the loss of my Thunder Ranch. The River Belle attempt at replacing what was lost there was dead on arrival. It tasted like buffet food from an old folks home. Can't wait to get back down to DCA and give all this a try. That andouille looks fantastic!

great coverage of the BBQ David. I visited and had a sides meal - beans, sausage, and corn bread. I think the Cole Slaw with the pork sandwich was vinegar based which is why you had your taste of white wine I think. Carolina BBQ leans in heavily on vinegar in their sauces and meat prep. and I really enjoyed the Christopher Brothers when I visited. great energy and sound. I'll look for them again.

A ham hock or pork knuckle is the joint between the tibia/fibula and the metatarsals of the foot of a pig, where the foot was attached to the hog's leg. It is the portion of the leg that is neither part of the ham proper nor the ankle or foot, but rather the extreme shank end of the leg bone.

David , to answer your question the ham hock is the back or "calf muscle" of the leg of the pig below the (thigh)ham part. Chicken looks good, not sure it's exactly how we do it here for the you'd need the maull's bbq sauce but we'll be having this for lunch when we're in dca. thanks for reviewing it all.

To answer your question about WY the potato salad is plant based. I think you forgot the other principal ingredient in potato salad is usually mayo (not vegan) and some varieties include chopped hard boiled eggs (definitely not vegan). So having te dressing be mustard with herbs is vegan friendly.

Had the chicken the other day and mine was a little dry, although, it looked 'wet'. It was later at night before World of Color, so wondering if that was the reason? The Potato Salad was good though!

ham hock is basically the join the attaches the "Trotter"(pig's feet) to the "Ham"(pigs backside) not to be confused with Pork Butt(the Shoulder)

I truly enjoy DCA more than Disneyland. The foods better, there’s more space to walk, the pier is gorgeous and there’s less of an emphasis on rides. Oh and beer. Delicious Californian beer.

Around the 14min mark, it looks like when you held up the bun it was not originally sliced in the right place. Try next time turning the burger upside down and eating it that way ;D

David, I absolutely love that E Ticket green shirt. I have the same shirt from WDW and bought an XL and I'm 6 feet tall and weigh about 180... Feels like a kids shirt. I looked and it's adult sized. Disney is kinda like Old Navy. You need to take at least 3 to try on to get the right fit. My Disney experience is much better with food! You are just a Real human that never lets us down. Food reviews are real. You need to do a try on shirt video comparing at least 3 garments with the same sizes. You will be so surprised at the difference because a lot are made in China. Do a video of you in the fitting room 3 times with the same size and we will all laugh!

I had the ribs a couple of weeks ago and they were just “ok” - Zero smoke flavor (probably because these are baked, rather than really on a smoker or BBQ). As someone who used to judge competition BBQ with the Kansas City BBQ Society I was not impressed by the ribs or the pulled pork. The ribs were a bit mushy and would score pretty low in a contest. Better than what you would get at a standard place like BJ’s or Fridays (etc.), but not great by any means. I do want to try the chicken though!

Vegetarian here, and I tried the poblano Mac and cheese and corn bread, but continue to pass on the overrated impossible burgers throughout the parks.... just gross and way too heavy. The Mac was delicious and the cornbread was some of the worst cornbread I’ve ever tried. I really wanted to like it, too.
