I’ve played around with modding on the channel before, and I figured the next step was to just take the plunge into randomizer territory and start seeing what chaos I could stir up. Elden Ring damage is just on another level. Not only did I think I was underleveled in every area I went to with how many vigor checks I took, but I was doing some insane damage by the time I reached Hogwarts. It's all glass cannons out here.

If you're still wondering about adding in bosses, there's a custom enemy placement button in the randomizer exe that lets you do that (along with replacement odds for all sorts of stuff to an almost absurd degree)

Yeah by default dungeon bosses will be randomized with dungeon bosses field bosses with field bosses. Etc

@Yakul I'm not sure if you can get down to the single enemy level for things that are being replaced, but you can get very specific about what is in the randomization pool. For example, you could say you want a 10% chance for regular enemies to be replaced by basilisks (don't ask me why you'd want this exact example though lol).

I've been playing around with the Elden Ring Item and Enemy Randomizer (by thefifthmatt) and it's been a blast. My suggestion to anyone playing through this is to do what many Randomizer runners do and find your Hype Caves; areas with a lot of randomized drops that you can quickly check for progression or gear. Named after a cave with a bunch of item checks in The Legend of Zelda: A Link To The Past Randomizer. Anywhere with a cluster of items (underneath the Divine Tower of Caelid), a bunch of graves (you'd normally find lots of runes at these), or a merchant (if you're randomizing their inventory). If you get lucky, you'll end up with at least one enemy that drops stuff reliably with a good roll. Miranda flowers large and small, Abnormal Stone Clusters (the Mario Pokey-looking ball-things with eyes near Gaols), and GIANT ENEMY CRABS all have reliable drop tables that can lead to fun times in farming. And for Rusty, even 1% replaced Regular Enemies with Bosses can get truck-nuts real quick. A good roll will lead to shenanigans. A bad roll has Elden Beast hanging out in the pond behind Kalé.

A good tip if you play randomizers that mess with starting kits. In the character creation screen, there’s a section for “origin” where you can flip through them quickly. Saves having to exit out and pick from the menu before each time.

Pretty sure there is a way to make regular enemies bosses and setting wildlife to be certain types of enemies as well, similar to what Distortion did for his run (replacing wildlife with revenants, lobsters, albinauric archers) just wish he added runebears and mohgwyn crows in the mix lol Also kinda appreciate you did a regular character instead of monstrosities, I just see too many monstrosities thanks to prod that normalness every so often is good lol

Speaking of bad seeds, the one time I played Elden Ring randomizer, I completed Weepin Penis, Ligmagrave, Liurnia, underground and _most_ of Altus and only got 1 great rune (Malenia's). So I couldn't even enter Leyndell. Ended up quiting out of boredoom, but I couldn't do any quest, as they were all mostly stuck at pre-Godrick. Even after selecting "important places" for key items.
