8:24 fun fact “panthers” aren’t a species of animal, the term refers to any big cat in the panthera genus, and is mainly used to refer to those with melanism (when an animal creates a surplus of melanin, turning them dark/black in color) so any lion, tiger, leopard, or jaguar with melanism is a “black panther” fun fact 2: snow leopards are more closely related to tigers than true leopards !

Dont forget panthers are also the only ones that have the ability to roar
@sumnerhayes34113 жыл бұрын
@@Chris-ks4sw “Panthers”, as smelly noted, is a nebulous word that can apply to many different species, but none of the common senses includes all the roaring cats and excludes all the non-roaring cats. * It's most often used by itself in reference to Puma concolor, the cougar, which is unable to roar. * The phrase “black panther” is also often used to refer to melanistic leopards and jaguars; they can roar, but they are not the only roaring cats. * And it's also used to refer to members of the family Pantherinae or the genus Panthera: the former contains many non-roaring cats. The latter contains mostly roaring cats, but also includes the (non-roaring) snow leopard.
