Trying Authentic Turkish Delight (Lokum) in Istanbul. Having never tried Turkish delight before, we had such a delicious day trying authentic Turkish delight (Lokum) for the first time in Istanbul.

Turkish delight is the ultimate Istanbul street food, and although Turkish delight is found all over and known worldwide, it’s not quite the same as trying it in its home country of Turkey. The soft and chewiness with the fragrant taste of Turkish delight make it another kind of sweet all in itself!
Today we tried authentic Turkish delight (Lokum) in one of the more famous places that sell it in Istanbul, compare all the different flavours on offer, as well as see what other sweets are sold in these stores in Istanbul.
The street food in Istanbul is amazing, and getting to try authentic Turkish delight (Lokum) in Istanbul for the first time was a real treat!

Something about Turkish delight looks so appetizing, I only had it at a Canadian candy shop a few times the original rose version and enjoyed it and the texture,strong flavour but would like to try other variants or make it homemade.

I live in Spain and at the malls, there are so many turkish stands but their delights are very dry and they're like a rock. Maybe they've been there for a long time

It sounds like they've been there a very long time. Turkish delight is usually very soft and chewy, and so delicious!

I personally prefer the nut flavors (pistachio or walnut) to the fruit. The texture is great. Although pomegranate or apricot are pretty darn good!
