My favorite CZ tip is from her video "Five Fabulous Hacks For Card Makers (Helpful Hints and Tricks!)" - placing large or background stamps on the platform of your MISTI or Stamparatus, and adhere your cardstock to the door. Easier to ink, re-ink, or make multiples. Genius!

I absolutely LOVE how all crafters support each other and competition is unheard of! I use a microfiber cloth over my Misti (because that’s what is always on my desk). If you stand up while using it, it applies a little bit more pressure.

I’ve been stamping 30+ yrs & have been doing almost all her hacks for yrs. I use my micro cloth rag on my Misti or my sweatshirt sleeve. I also use the corners of my Misti to make sure I line up the top layer of paper. I also use my paper cutter for this. I like the clothes pin trick, it’s much easier than what I’ve been using for so long. I use an alligator clip that’s attached to a dowel. (Meant to hold a sponge to p/u & get ink/paint into tight corners when sponging.) I put some cosmetic sponge on the clips so I don’t leave marks. Another trick I picked up was to use a clothes pin on your anti static bag. Put both sides together & clip it there. Store it in a small container. This way you don’t get that “sand” on your fingers/work surfaces which drives me nuts~o. I use the sweater roller to get the junk off my dies b/c they’re handy & stickier than low tack. There’s really nothing to rip b/c it’s waste anyways. I also use those to clean up EP/glitter that’s on my work service. I ❤️it that everyone is sharing their tips, makes life lots easier & this old dog can always use better, faster ways of doing things. Thank You! Amy Jones Apex, NC

Loved all these tips and got to be honest I haven't heard of Cathy but she looks a fun lady and I will check her out.. Actually to be honest my most favourite tip I learned was the inked background tip of straight away using embossing powder , because I didn't know you I could emboss over ordinary ink....this is just brilliant and will be my first tip to try. Thank you Simon for sharing this video with us and so appreciate it and grateful to people like you for making our lives easier. I am new to your channel and subscribing . Love and use them all. For the hairs in the die cuts I use a sanding block lightly around the edges. Saves money on that tape.
@user-mv9tt4st9k4 жыл бұрын
I use blue tape for everything. I take the hairs off of the edges of cut or die cut cardstock; and I use it to keep cardstock in place for stamping. I tear off a couple of inches and tape it across my wrist or hand if I think it might be too sticky right off the roll. 😉

Many people use the reverse tweezers, which work well when you have non embossed areas. When I’m doing a full embossed page or piece, I use my pokey tool. With tweezers, there’s always that blank spot where the tweezer part held the project. With the pokey tool, it holds your project in place with missed spots!
@katieanne13944 жыл бұрын
I had the same reaction when I watched her video for the first tip with the scor pal. I love it and have been doing that ever since and will never try lining things up without it.

I love Cathy Zielske’s videos too. All of these tips work really well. Using a wooden peg(🇦🇺Aussie) is a great idea. I burned myself using tweezers for heat embossing. You can move the peg if needed to get around the design. Great video Simon!

I love how she uses the score buddy. I think it would work even if the front panel was a bit smaller, say 1/4 inch. You just move it 1/4 inch from left and 1/4 from the top. Can’t wait to try it!

For the clothespin tip: If you don't have a clothespin, go to The Dollar Tree. You can get a bunch for only a buck. The window for my craft space got too much sun and the blinds don't work. My card rack was going to have faded cards. I bought some light, bright material and hung it over the blinds with my $1 clothespins. I had one left over, so SCORE for the embossing tip.

I love Cathy Zielske: her craft room is in the dining room of what looks like a craftsman home. I relate to that. The cloth hack is an interesting one. I have seen Cathy's video, and I started using my microfiber cloth to get even pressure when I stamp. I like the results when I am using my stamp press, larger acrylic blocks or wood stamps. I started using clothes pins to hold card stock when I first started embossing: I found that my card was less apt to turn if I used a clothes pin instead of tweezers. My favorite hack is lining up the card and card base, though I do not have tools to do that, ha ha.
