You should go to the thermal parks in the North in the departments of Salto and Payasandú, the main resort towns, are Dayman, Horacio Qurioga, Arapey and Guaviyú. all very close to each other. Thank you very much for showing your experience and for being so kind!

I am Uruguayan (living in Uruguay) and FYI the water for drinking mate must be hot but not boiling. Boiling water burns the herbs and ruins the real flavours of yerba mate. Many people like to drink it with boiling water but the real mate must be drunk with just hot water.

The weather changes a lot during the day and it can get pretty windy but at least we don´t have hurricane season. I guess its a matter of finding the right spot where the wind doesn´t blow you away, it can get pretty exciting! haha
