A lot of brands mix vodka with tequila. The problem is that agave needs a long time to grow (7 years) and with a huge demand for tequila on the market companies use agave that is not quite ready (does not have enough sugar to make alcohol) so they have to strengthen tequilas by adding vodka. Kendall's brand is an example of a brand following this practice.

I accidentally took a swig of my mother’s amaretto sour (thinking it was some other type of beverage) when I was young. That scarred me for life lol! I don’t drink for multiple reasons, but the smell/taste is definitely one of them. I just will never understand the appeal. I’d much rather have water or any other non-alcoholic beverage that actually tastes and smells good, has zero effect on my cognitive abilities, and doesn’t make me wince in disgust lol

@@BhappyD I used to really hate the taste of alcohol too. You just have to find a kind you like. I prefer fruity drinks, myself. Two being pina coladas and a Japanese plum wine I forgot the brand name of. I still don't drink often. I might have one a week or one a month and only one glass.

@@eryuu4016 My mother has never been a big drinker (she hasn’t had a drink in years), but the only drinks she ever had were either amaretto sours or super fruity “sweet” drinks. When I was a teen there were only two occasions where she allowed me to take a VERY small sip of her drink at dinner, one being a small sip of a fruity wine cooler, and another being a “super sweet” fruity cocktail. Both times I nearly threw up from the taste, and that’s not an exaggeration. I was in full blown cold sweats lol. I’m 29, and the last of those two sips from when I was a younger teenager was the last time I ever had any alcohol touch my lips. I just have zero desire to try anything else, and would much rather drink a fruity mocktail sans the alcohol. That’s just way more enjoyable to me. Plus, with the history of alcoholism in my family, among some other reasons, it’s just not worth it to me, especially when I’m already so disgusted by the taste and smell. I just have zero desire to try any alcoholic beverage, and I’m ok with that 😊

One of my all time favorite cocktails is one that we saw at a restaurant and then made at home. I'm not even sure if we did it right, but it is SO GOOD. It's called an orange blossom and has orange vodka, St Germain, lime juice, and then gets topped with ginger ale. It is DANGEROUSLY good. I'm actually bringing the stuff to make it to my friend Christmas/New Years get together.

Don’t cut limes or lemons into wedges or halves if you want a good volume of juice and an easy squeeze. Cut the fruit on either side of center as if you were trying to cut fruit around a core. You cut the membranes this way and the juice flows freely
