Espresso+Orange juice+Ice is called Bumble where I am from. They serve it everywhere in summer. First you put ice in a glass, then pour juice over it, then a shot of espresso. Sometimes you put caramel syrop on the bottom of the glass if you like a sweeter drink. The drink looks like the stripes of a bumble bee, it's very pretty. The ratio of juice to espresso is 2/1. The drink is versatile and can be served hot in winter. The combination of sweet and fruity+bitter is not everyone's favorite, but the way you completely destroyed it made me sad. And on a side note: the price of a Bumble is the same as a no-syrop Ice Latte.

@bethswaim51312 жыл бұрын
Is it supposed to be balsamic like for topping a caprese or balsamic vinegar?
@dawnchesbro41892 жыл бұрын
@@bethswaim5131 the balsamic for caprese is balsamic vinegar. There's aged balsamic vinegar that sweetens as it ages. I have a 25 year aged balsamic vinegar that I love to drizzle over strawberries and vanilla ice cream YUM. But the grocery store staple balsamic vinegar is usually only aged a year at best. Find aged vinegars and you'll openba world of complex flavors!
@dawnchesbro41892 жыл бұрын
I honestly would avoid flavored balsamic vinegar. They don't age well with off flavors after a year and they are usually made with artificial flavors. It's never as tasty as a high quality aged balsamic vinegar from Italy. As balsamic ages, it sweetens. If you do want to have vanilla balsamic, make your own! Take a good 8 or 10 year balsamic vinegar and add scraped vanilla pods. Let it sit in a cool corner of your pantry and shake it occasionally. Keeps forever. Low on balsamic, add more, no need to change the vanilla pods.

So my husband was a barista at Starbucks for 6 years, and coffee and orange juice is something they used to do with new people because it’s one of those “It can’t possibly work” things. He told me the key to having it taste okay, or even good, is you need a coffee with a really high acidity. He says that the coffees that the orange juice will go best with are African in origin because they tend to have a higher acidity in their profile. Matching coffee to what you’re mixing it with is super important to having them taste good.

It seems to me like that balsamic drink could be very good if you used a fancy, aged balsamic with more of a syrupy consistency. I think standard supermarket balsamic might not have enough flavor.

Exactly right! It needs to be the aged, syrupy one, that is almost naturally sweet. The one in the video looked very thin.

Yes we use it here in the UK all the time. Good quality balsamic with a proper sparkling lemonade, loads of fruit cut up in it. Fake Pimms!!!

@@melz36uk, that was my first thought! How to have a Pimm’s if you can’t drink because of medication interaction, if you’re pregnant, you are the designated driver or whatever.

Exactly! Aged balsamic would have been so much better and would have made it more of a mocktail of a Pimm’s cup or Campari drink.
