yeah, the UV on the vacuum thing is basically a very shiny gimmick. UV *does* work as sanitization tool, but unless you're vacuuming *incredibly* slowly, the surfaces aren't actually getting enough exposure to the UV for it to be effective.

UVC at 254 nm non ozone producing light can destroy pathogens in seconds. How much it penetrates is of course a question, but it can help, and quickly. We use it on our pillows to reduce dust mite levels, and it does help. Of course, if you can expose things to sunlight, that is uv. But when you can't...🤷♀️

Melt chocolate chips (3/4 c should be enough) and coconut oil (1 T) Dip frozen mixture into melted chocolate and stick in the fridge 😋 they will be ready to eat when the mixture is not too frozen - Should be like a moose!

Have Lauren use that last vacuum on the couch where the dogs sit! That’s a place that would benefit from being vacuumed and sanitized. That silicone “broom” seemed pretty useless. Why not just have a vacuum that does hard floors? I have a Dyson knockoff to vacuum my kitchen floor of crumbs and bits, like bits of kitty kibble, and a Bissell Crosswave to clean the floor. It’s more environmentally friendly than throwaway pads and the spinning brush head gets the dirt well. (Got it on a deep sale when Bed, Bath and Beyond went out of business in their stores.) As for the paper towel holder, that was really nice. I appreciate the spray bottle being right there. I like the duster cloth thing that can reach under furniture too. Did you try it under your stove and fridge too? You might want to.

I bet the scrub daddy sponge would be great on mop boards. Also I clean my hair bushes once a month with water, a little white vinegar, and dawn dish soap. (My brushes has a lot of dry shampoo in them) Soak in a bowl for a few minutes. Then take one of the Dollar Store round dish scrubbers with bristles. You know the one that you can fill with dish soap about 2 inches high 2 inches round. Then scrub in one direction to get hair out. Then scrub back and forth to get dry shampoo and lint out of brush. Yes I then clean my cleaning brush. 😂 But it does keep my hair from getting greasy so fast. But I have got to the point where I only have to wash my hair every 4 to 5 days. I vacuum my mattress with my dyson cordless. I ordered an extra head just for my beds. But still a cool vacuum for the bed. I'd buy it depending on cost.

@leannehowarth69398 ай бұрын
Although the hair brush cleaner cleaned the brushes better than you could possibly do, I don't know about anyone else but to get a decent hairbrush (at least in my country) can be expensive and I wouldn't want to lose a few bristles every time I cleaned them. I think a gentle soap and a soft bristle brush gets them clean enough and you could steam them using a normal steamer that has more uses. Sharing specialist cleaners with a few other households is a great idea. I'd even say you could share a carpet cleaner, yes they are marketed as you'd use them all the time but I'm not gonna haul one out, fill up the tank and just do 1 rug. I'd do all my carpets or a few a month, you could easily call up your sister or friend if there was a big spill and ask if you could pick it up, if it wasn't your week or month to have it but you didn't want the stain to set in. And except for a big spill I'm only gonna wash my carpets every quarter or 6 months. It's just such a big job, moving all the furniture, all the prep and cleaning of the machine, washing the carpets and then waiting for them to dry before putting the room back together.

Okay, so I found this exact mattress vacuum thing in my apartment building lobby for free. I snatched it and have had it for maybe 2-3 years? I can’t lie, I thought I’d use it to clean / vacuum my couch and mattress once and then put it back in the lobby for someone else to grab. But as someone with a double coated dog… I use it at least once a month! I use it on our mattress any time I have time (maybe once every few months / quarterly) when I’m already changing the sheets. Then I use it on our couch every 4-6 weeks and I really think it makes a difference with dust and pet dander. I have also used it on pieces I take home from the thrift store or Facebook market place, etc. I’ve used it on our pillows, like you did, and our upholstered headboard which collects a lot of dust otherwise. I even use it on our guest bedding when our guest bedding is perfectly clean, but the top of the duvet needs a little refresh before a guest comes because our pup has maybe napped on it since I put on fresh bedding. If I didn’t have the space to store it, it’d definitely be donated, but I actually get more use out of it than you’d think! The reason I wouldn’t use our regular vacuum for these things is honestly because our vacuum touches the floor and the suction area is quite dusty and dirty. So it’s not for upholstery and nicer items like this.

The squeegee broom is not for hard floors so much as for de-furring carpet that has already been vacuumed and still has hairs woven into it. A sock on a yard stick has always been my go to "under things duster". For UV light to sterilize it needs to be uv-C and it needs to be strong enough to give you a sunburn. I doubt that vacuum is either. If it IS uv-c, it will FADE things, so back to mattresses.
