Excellent idea for the gold test necklace. I can’t tell you how much I’ve enjoyed watching you from Texas. Hopefully one day you might think of taking group or individual detecting tours. Get a small pressure pot with a hand pump and you can reduce the size of those bubbles :) Can even be combined with a vac pump to first degass resin for bubbles, then use pressure while it sets.

Do some crushed semi precious stones you find or chips in clear resin. Just be careful don't get it on the skin and use well ventilated area I had a serious allergic reaction to resin. It was flu like symptoms, I had to do it outside in order not to get sick. I love your idea about the gold tester for your coil that way you can quickly test without having to much trouble

New hobby is good, I like the practicality of the testing piece as I have a money bag I toss on the ground and looks pretty rough. Still killing time in SA and not achieving very much, put the car in for a new engine on the 20th then I have to head back up to the NT. Have a good week. Leon

Now you are playing with resin, you should Totally cast those specimen pieces into clear resin💯 And sell Them! Even those 1g ones would look so Nice on a desk or shelf! I would buy one!!! Thoughts of you guys found it and now for me to look at and a great conversation piece! Find Ben’s Works to learn about casting clear resin… Guess you need a pressure pot to make it perfect😎 Just a 5x5cm cube would be Nice for one grammers… Sanding and polish needed.. The nuggets in resin look great.. Somewhat larger pieces in the clear resin would make nice display specimens - and should sell at a useful (?) margin on the gold price!?… Of course you’d be a trusted source! JAT…

I always use a 1/2 g test nugget on a lanyard I keep around my neck… don’t leave home without it… All coils react and sound differently in different mineralizations… you need to adjust for those variables and a test nugget is the only way to do that.
