You absolutely CAN demolish a bag of liquorice! At least I can, it's my absolute favorite candy, specially the one from Sambó, they had the Þristur, but also have Kúlusúkk which is chocolate covered liquorice and man, it's so good! Love seeing people from around the world try our liquorice 😆 Happy New year!

I am super jealous right now! I'm an Icelander living in Canada and couldn't go home this year - my family sent me a box of my favorite treats for Christmas but of course it's delayed until the 29th. 😭 I am so looking forward to my grandmother's laufabrauð that my family always gets together to cut (making all the little things that makes it look like a snowflake) and the chips. 😁 And yes - those licorice Tópas ones (like the eucalyptus one) have been a staple treat since I was a kid. :) My late grandfather always carried those around and would sneak me some. :) I've already told me family not to judge me when I go home because I'll be doing nothing but eating for days! 😂 Loved your videos. :) Happy holidays. :)

Such a great second parter!! My dear friends went on an amazing adventure to Iceland 2 years ago, and they brought back hats and shirts for the kids because my friends didn’t like any of the licorice they tried 🤣 but my dear friend also doesn’t eat a lot of things, 🤣 and I constantly make fun of her for! She’s from Missouri and doesn’t like any kind of bbq! Weirdo. 🤣 but so thankful for another awesome year of videos and boxes! Becky is okay, the surgeon said her second surgery went very well and initially she was doing great. She was actually able to stand up which doesn't sound a lot but is amazing for her. We have Omnom in Canada and last Christmas my mom got some as a gift from her friend. My mom was saving it for a special occasion but my Dad ate the whole bar without knowing how fancy it was, and thought it was just regular chocolate. As you can imagine my mom was not very happy! 😂

Yes, licorice is huuge in Iceland, and everytime i go home to Iceland i buy tons of it before returning to Norway. Chocolate-licorice is my favorite combination

Watching this in late March and mad that I forgot to get OmNom at the shops today. I am not a milk chocolate fan but I actually like this milk chocolate. I was discussing it with one of their employees once and he said that the reason this is so much better to me than most other milk chocolates is that yes, the percentage of cocoa solids might be similar but there isn't as much cocoa butter. You can even feel when you break a piece off that it behaves more like a really dark chocolate. Some milk chocolates are so full of the cocoa butter or other fats that it coats the top of your mouth and tongue to the degree that you lose the taste.

Regarding the presents children get in their shoes 12 days before Christmas, the tradition is, if they behave, each of the 13 Yule Lads brothers leaves them a little present (like a box of crayons and a coloring book, toy cars, sweets, etc.) and the children check the shoe every morning when they wake up. If they've been naughty however, they get a rotten potato :) And with the cat, it's thought of as a giant black cat, in the olden days it was used to scare people into finishing whatever item of clothing they were making for the holidays (Icelanders made their own clothing back in the day). Nowadays it's more of a saying, for example, if you buy yourself a new piece of clothing and post it on social media the caption might be something like; "Looks like I won't be eaten by the Christmas cat this year!" It's really fun to play around with :)
