Today we visit Sudirman Street in Bandung Indonesian to try 10 different street food dishes with ‪@RhettandClaire‬. What we love about Indonesian food is that no matter what province you're in they will have a different variation of a similar dish. At Sudirman street we saw both familiar foods and completely new ones that we've never heard of before. Join us as we explore the first five dishes on my channel and don't forget to watch the remaining five on ‪@RhettandClaire‬'s Channel.

Frog legs are expensive indeed so It's the real price...not foreigner's price...and the dessert you tried is not kolak candil or biji salak...It's wedang ronde...Candil is plain, made from sweet potato and the soup is thicker made from brown sugar and coconut milk...Ronde is usually made from glutinous rice and has peanut(sometimes with sesame also) and sugar filling with lighter soup contain brown sugar and ginger...

Harga street food di Indonesia itu berbeda-beda tergantung 1. Provinsi, tiap provinsi punya UMR yang berbeda 2. Wilayah/Tempat. Apakah itu tempat wisata, lokasi dekat kampus yg biasanya murah, lokasi dekat pemukiman menengah keatas yg pasti lebih mahal, lokasi yg sulit ditempuh misal puncak gunung, dll 3. Jenis makanan. Semakin jarang dijual semakin mahal. Pokoknya *ASK THE PRICE BEFORE YOU BUY/EAT* You can check their price in gofood or grabfood or food review website or food vlogger video etc.

What u said candil is called ronde jahe.. Its not sweet potato but tapioca flour with peanut and sugar filling.. u can order small ronde which is small tapioca balls without the peanut.. usually served with brown sugar and ginger soup (what u had).. or u can have it with white sugar and ginger soup.. The candil that rhett and claire tried in jakarta was sweet potato based and it's completely different dessert..

Frog is expensive, because it is a food for a niche market (not every Indonesian people want or able to eat it). Due to its niche market, there are not a lot of frog farm and increase the price. Nowadays, the demand of frog are getting higher, while the frog farm is quite the same in terms of production quantity. There is another type of frog that is called stone frog (saklon), which has a thick skin (but really tasty), this one cost more, could be like two times of normal frog that you've just ate.

Its unfortunate that Katania didn't take you for proper Sundanese food at Mak Uneh at Jl. Pajajaran or Ampera or other good restaurant, even one had old style food utensils. The balls you ate is in a ginger sauce. Soto with rice is a meal in itself, it has protein, vegetables etc. The recipe differs from family to family, so the soto ayam you ate in Bali will hv different recipe than in Bandung. Your soto Bandung is with chicken, usually its beef. There a beef soto such as in Surabaya that is with mixed beef parts, such as tripe, intestine, lungs.

the best soto in town is actually Soto Seteran Malang, located in Taman Holis Indah. i kid you not, they have excellent broth soup. they have both beef and chicken variant and their crispy tempe crackers and mendoan is also to die for. if it's too far you can ask gojek via goshop service to buy them for you.

Like how you'd find different kind of ramen in Japan. You'd find different kind of soto in Indonesia.

Nice video, alex. I recommend u to visit Solo (Surakarta). There's a lot of food that u can try. And a lot of traditional culture in there. Also solo was known for its cheap living cost. U should try it for ur next video👍

that price is not expensive, there are many more expensive ones, not foreigners' prices. Especially if you eat stone creek frogs/giant frog in indonesia ( kodok batu), it's even more expensive. And can be eaten with the skin. very delicious
