Trying Island Hopping Ferry Trip in Japan's Southwestern | Yoronjima Island→Kagoshima

I traveled by ferry from Yoronjima Island to Kagoshima.
The ship was "Naminoue" of A-Line Ferry.
I booked a 2nd-class sleeping berth capsule for $140.
The ferry departed at 12:10 p.m. and arrived at Kagoshima at 8:30 a.m..
On the way, the ferry stops at Okinoerabu Island, Tokunoshima Island and Amami Oshima Island.

Thank you for your brilliant series about Japanese small islands. On a special note: the starry sky is breathtaking there. This alone would justify a trip to these places, but with spectacular landscapes, sea, wildlife and friendly people it absolutely makes a fabulous destination to get away from the everyday life.

かなり昔ですが沖縄本島から与論島、沖永良部島、鹿児島から飛行機で大阪への船旅をしました、時期が三月だったと思います、学校の先生方の転勤時期であり岸壁には多くの学生、その父兄さんたちが先生のお見送りに来られていて、船の別れは寂しくもあり、また都会では先生の転勤での見送りもないのでなんかいいものだなと感じました。今でも続いているのでしょうね。

Great trip. Finally I can see regular container loaded by forklift into vehicle ramp (not included the cattle one). Wait, two ship running on same direction with interval around few hours? I think for this route only serve by one ship per day, so two ship from each directions. Overall great ship, food, and great island hopping experience. Less than an hour for Port calling? Amazing.

I was very impressed by the efficient cargo handling operations at the ports of call. In addition to the Kagoshima to Naha route, this ferry company operates a separate route from Kagoshima to Okinoerabu Island. The ports of call are slightly different, and the two routes have separate ports of arrival and departure on Okinoerabu Island.😸

wonderful voyage I like the Amami Islands, unique culture influenced by both Kagoshima and Okinawa, and splendid natural environment that has been designated as a World Heritage Site. The coral reefs of Yoronjima Island are breathtakingly beautiful, and the rum distilled on Amami Oshima Island is great.

I am so glad you know so much about the Amami Islands and like them. Okinawa is indeed wonderful, but Amami and Yoron have a different charm from Okinawa. I would like to visit all the Amami Islands someday.😸

Oddest port I've seen in these types of videos. But the scenery is wonderful. I've never seen a ferry come in, as they're usually already docked. Thank you for sharing this different type ferry ride.

Merci pour votre commentaire. J'ai été heureux de voir le ferry débarquer depuis le quai. Les corridas sur cette île sont des combats de taureaux contre des taureaux. Ils ne se font pas de mal. C'est comme de la lutte. L'armée japonaise s'appelle les Forces d'autodéfense. Le Japon renonce au droit de belligérance dans sa Constitution. C'est une armée de guerre pour la défense.😸

International rules dictate that the harbor entrance and exit, as seen from the sea, should have a white lighthouse on the left side and a red lighthouse on the right side. When you pass between the red and white lighthouses from the sea, you have entered the harbor.😸

マルエーフェリーの先代のフェリーなみのうえは客室設備こそ多少劣っていたものの運航していた当時は全くの無事故でした。 しかし、韓国の海運会社にスクラップ同然で売却された後セウォルと改名され貨物をさらに沢山積めるよう改造されました。 当然復元性は低下したため、過積載とバラスト水の誤操作などにより沈没事故を起こし、300人近くが犠牲になりました。

Ferry not as fancy as some of the other ferries.⛴️ Question I know Japan is an island country, how many islands does Japan has and how many active volcano does Japan have? Hello. Your omelette looks strange but tasty. Japan has over 14,000 islands and 110 active volcanoes. The SDF guys on board were moving from Okinawa to Kagoshima. There are many military bases in Okinawa. They often use ferries to travel with their vehicles 😸
