Wow! That looks so yummy!! All the food and dessert. Definitely going to put that in my notebook on things to do when me and my familly finally can travel to Japan! 😃
I love shabu shabu! My mom makes it frequently since it's really easy to cook.

Your videos being back a lot of happy memories. My daughter, son in law and 5 blond, blue eyed grandchildren live in Miyazaki. I haven't been able to visit for 2 years and really miss my time in Japan. So many of your experiences are familiar to me. I am hoping things open up soon so I can return.

I think the broth you described as something similar to water was meant for cooking your food that was supposed to be dipped in sesame and other choice of sauces. The sweet teriyaki-like broth was for cooking meat and veggies prior to dipping them in raw eggs. You know Japanese raw eggs are pretested for salmonella and they are all good to be eaten raw. Nonetheless, it was a fun video to watch.

Brilliant video as usual! Always grateful that you share these unique Japanese experiences with us. Would love to try such a restaurant ourselves (when normal travel is possible again...)! It looks so fun. Happy to see kids enjoyed it greatly too 😊Seriously impressed by the dessert options as well!

You guys look really enjoying living in Japan. It's very nice.
Yes! I have made cotton candy before. Through our ministry, we were able to hold kids' day at a local prison where families could come and spend a day with their dads. I was on the cotton candy station and was given the nickname Cotton Candy Queen! Let's just say it is an interesting conversation starter when I say yeah I got that nickname in prison hahahah
I love your videos!!! I just saw this randomly here and I subscribe right away! 🥰🥰🥰🥰

Shabu-shabu is delicious when eaten with sauce! Gomadare is recommended!😋❤
For the regular, mizudaki (plain water with just Kombu) soup that you said taste like water, you need a sauce to dip in the veggies and meat. We Personally like that because we like to dip the meat in ponzu. But there are different sauces in buffet style shabu shabu restaurant you can choose from.
Just noticed, restaurant is my favorite location one. I used it it every once a week. Yammy..

The whole shabu shabu set looks so good and to top it off with sweet desserts at the end is what i would call a perfect meal. The robot reminds me of this one time i got served by one too but at a chinese hotpot restaurant in Malaysia.

Excellent!!! Shabuyo is my favorite too. I also love sukiyaki soup. I also like to stir the chocolate sauce into my ice cream just like the girls do lol.
I am new to your channel. Thank you for sharing your family & life in Japan. If I might ask how did y’all end up living in Japan. Do any other family live there. I love learning about life abroad. Welcome to the channel! I grew up down I-74 in Central Illinois :) My parents still live there! We moved here to help Ruth's uncle who has lived here almost 40 years with the Japanese churches they've started. So this channel is about our constant adaptation to life in Japan!

I recomend dipping meet into the soup shorter waving meet saying " shabu shabu". For 3 seconds is the best to taste with "goma dare(sweet sesami source)". So, you can eat very soft meet that you have never had.

I love shabu-shabu, too. I heard that shabu-shabu was invented in Osaka about 70 years ago. It's like a restaurant of the near future, complete with robots!

Shabu-shabu is one of good foods during cold winter. The restaurant offers not only shabu-shabu ingredients but also drinks and desserts; therefore, you are satisfied much more with them. There is the shabu-shabu restaurant serving by fixed price as much as you want to eat.
It was a very good experience. I often see foreigners at yakiniku restaurants, but it is very good to choose "shabu-shabu". It's the best this time of year 👍

I love shabu-yo so much. I've been there once a week. it's difficult for me to make cotton candies , but so fun. perhaps, there is available to make custard pudding, too. tips: Remove the cooked meat and vegetables from the pot and dip them into the various sauces. Generally, ponzu is used for vegetables and Gomadare(sesame sauce) for meat, although this can be varied according to one’s own personal tastes.
@DodgerBlue1892 жыл бұрын
Original shabu shabu was water only and you dipped the meat or veggies in a ponzu type sauce after cooking. They didn't have flavored shabu shabu a long time ago.

Everybody needs a nap after "all you can eat"😆I totally agree😃
When you use the regular broth, you are supposed to use the sesami dipping sauce (Goma dare)as well, also raw eggs with Sukiyaki broth. Try them next time. They make big difference.
