So good to see Maton guitars featured. As an Australian, I'm really proud of our homegrown instruments and have two Matons (a newish 6 string and a really old 12 string) which I love more than anything. Glad you enjoyed playing one!

Thanks Jeremy. Great page. I have owned 3 Matons. As an Aussie , I am lucky, as they are pretty common second hand. Currently play a Maton S60 Dreadnought (similar to one reviewed on Artisan guitar youtube page in the past), which I recently puchased 2nd hand for around $700 Aust ($540 USD). It's not one of their expensive models ,but plays and sounds great.

Glad to see that you finally got a chance to try out a Maton Jeremy. I'm from Australia and have metioned Maton guitars a few times on your live KZbin streams. Acoustically they sound a bit thin and overbuilt, but plugged in they are a beast. I have owned many in the past and still have 1 that I use as my workhorse to take out and about. But I recently purchased a new reimagined Martin D-28 and what a guitar it is!! It's amazing, leaves my Matons for dead acoustically and it's playability is fantastic.

My Maton EA80C Australian (it says Australian on the soundhole sticker not "The Australian" like newer models) has been my workhorse for 15 plus years. The sound is so familiar, I could feel it's strings under my fingers as I watched. Great video. Thanks for showing some love to these fantastic instruments. I hope it encourages others to buy Matons so the company can continue to make great guitars for future generations.

Maton's pick up system is certainly up there. As a live 'soundie' (and a luthier and a Maton authorised repairer) for the last three decades, these are the ONLY guitars that get plugged in, and sound great with everything 'flat'. I'd also qualify that comment by saying that a good acoustic guitar, is not necessarily going to be a good acoustic/electric guitar.

I purchased my first Maton in 2000, and built a collection (eight now) in the hope of using them/holding their value, (appreciating, even)... With the brand now making headway in the U.S. market, I'm thinking they'll be commonplace by the time I'm ready to sell them.

My questions is ... do you have to use this gauge strings? I really don't like that setup (.12 - .53). What would happen if you used lighter gauge strings? I don't mind the heavy higher strings but I use lighter strings on the low end. I don't like to wrestling with big fat low E and A strings. Can you offer any info on strings gauges for the guitar? I record straight in to interface. Check it out #riotofthepinkaxe. I've tried the 12 string model in shop and Wow. Most Aussie player will have one, the old ones are just as good as the new ones. They kind of remind me of Larrivee (Tommy Emanuel also has a Larrivee signature deal), which is a great high end /“budget” guitar. I love larrivee and they do rival Martin and Gibson/Taylor. I think with the pick ups and all Maton is a great option, probably close to being on par with a custom shop Martin ? Maybe not quite at the same level as a Collings/Bourgeois/Santa Cruz….but close! I played one and it was great, it had a lose brace but that was probably just from the previous owner.
@dustinadair7893 Жыл бұрын
Cole Clark pickups are unbeatable, piezzo, face sensor and a mic and an EQ onboard. So awesome. Maton is second in my opinion, then I’ve yet to find an American guitar that has an amazing pickup system. Taylor - meh… Martin - not sure. Gibson - Meh. They all sound amazing acoustically but pickup system isn’t that great.

Unfortunate that u cannot appreciate guitar culture w/o being anti-science. Yes masks work, ofcourse they do, surgeons wear them. Do u want spit in ur face? Do u wash hands after taking poop? Do u stop at redlights or wear shoes outside....So many hogs wont wear them, and they don't work if u don't wear them. How many of u will die/spread covid? How many of u will kill someone w/ur ignorance? Covid causes major lung damage and neurological issues, also heart and vessel problems. Anti-vaxxers have died from Covid. How many of u refuse to believe in academic research? Its sad, but the fact is we still need u conservative/republican/qanon racists to get vaccinated, and wear masks. The entire reason we have millions of deaths worldwide from covid is bec ppl don't take the pandemic serious. THE LONGER WE LET THIS PANDEMIC GROW THE LONGER THE WORLD SUFFERS.
@dcarts56163 жыл бұрын
@@angelg8445 statistics show that POCs are the most vakseen hesitant. Studies also show that the vaccinated are spreading COViD more than the unvaccinated. The COViD19 vaccine is the deadliest vaccine ever released in the modern era. We can both choose to look at all of the data or just the data that agrees with our politics. I love freedom, you love having your god (government) tell you what to do. An impasse, maybe? I don’t get the flu vaccine and I won’t get the Wuhan bioweapon virus vaccine. Humans aren’t meant to be masked, quarantined, etc, all this is is a tool to subvert the freedoms and liberties both big and small of all people across the world.
