It’s not “strawberry pie” per se. It was “strawberry daifuku” pie actually strawberry flavored mochi and red bean paste. It’s basically a rice dough and beans.
@skyOH7
@skyOH7 Жыл бұрын
for people who has had mochi and red bean paste since forever they will appreciate the strawberry pie, but for people who are trying the mochi red bean combination for the first time, it will be a disaster. please also note that the red bean in japan is worlds away from what they sell in the states.

Due to livestock not being a very popular industry in Japan due to space limitations most of their meat is heavily heavily processed unless it’s a fish. Almost everything has to be imported. The easiest way to compare it is American bacon versus Japanese bacon.

The "play dough" texture is actually mochi. They put mochi inside which gives it the texture, if you don't know what that is, it's some sort of filling (Icecream or red bean paste) wrapped in a soft and streachy outer part. it's not gone bad or anything its yummy and perfectly fine to eat. 😊

As a Japanese person, to be honest, I don't think it's okay for the photographer to think the food tastes bad, but when he vomits it, it just makes everyone around him feel uncomfortable. I wanted him to at least swallow the food even if it tasted bad. Although it's your own fault, I want you to think carefully about how you feel when you see the food scraps thrown up by other staff members. There may be cultural differences, but I hope you at least behave well when you're in a different country.

Spitting it out is a bit much, at least spit it in a napkin, that's how I'm used to seeing it done in the states, but it's totally fine to say you don't like it, I've seen Japanese people do reactions to foreign food saying it tastes bad, there's nothing wrong with saying you don't like something, this isn't some family picnic that you'll hurt someones feelings

As somebody who lives in Japan. If you visit Japan, you SHOULD try McDonalds. But know that if you only visit you aren’t getting the whole menu. McDonalds here has seasonal items which fits Japan’s seasonal culture. They generally bring back the popular items, but only around the season/holiday it is for. I think most people come in spring, when they have sakura style items. My personal favorite is around October when they have tsukimi (moon viewing) themed items. Other places do have some seasonal things, but not so much.

If you get the chance, you gotta try the McDonalds in Morocco. I kid you not, my cousins and I went there nearly EVERY other day during the summer. The restaurant is always really nice and I love the seatings, especially the view from the McDonalds in Maarif, Casablanca right behind the huge “Maarif” sign. Hands down, the food is great. I tried so much I never saw here in America, or elsewhere. The shawarmas were great, steak fries delicious, the mokhito drink, the sauces, the combos, there’s so much variety in the whole menu. The cafe is great too. That McDonalds was so lively at nighttime, the atmosphere was really cool, a bunch of friends would meet up there and people get to knew each other there. I haven't been to Japan but I did eat at McDonald's in Odessa Ukraine. Tasted just like home. The one BIG difference was the packets of ketchup. I love ketchup and asked for 10 or 12 packets. The girl's eyes nearly popped out of her head and then asked, "Really?!" I didn't understand her shock at my request until she pulled some packets from under the counter. 1 of their packets was equal to roughly 5 here in the US and if memory serves each packet cost an extra 10 cents. I got 3 or 4. I still have the tray liner written in Ukrainian (Russian really).
