Mental health is like a table. The more legs you have under the table (good sleep hygiene, nutritious diet, exercise, social contact, therapy etc...) the more stable the table is. It's rarely one thing but we can do a lot of little things throughout the day that can cumulatively make a difference. I’ve had to overhaul how I approach studying, working out and taking care of my brain (journaling) by practising mediocre consistency. Now I try to put in consistent 50-60% effort into my studying, exercise and journaling habit - to make sure I do it I began recording it and posting it on YT. Because historically I have a habit of going too hard, not being able to sustain the Herculean effort, giving up and hating myself. So now I’m trying to give a small, consistent mediocre effort everyday. And its crazy how it adds up.

for a mix of some indie / pop / alternative music I HIGHLY recommend (if you haven’t listened to any of them already) The Paper Kites, Lennon Stella, Far Caspian, Between Friends, Sam Fender, Declan McKenna, and Wolf Alice! ❤️

The members from The 1975 are problematic (not going into detail but for comtext: working with people who behave inappropriate towards their female fans even though they were aware of the situation, not speaking out about it, their managament first ignored the dms they got from the victims and later doxxed them and the members also have allegation/showed not the best behavior especially Matty but maybe not everything is true idk I stopped researching at some point) so I wouldn't recommend them but a band with a similar vibe is modernlove. They aren't well known yet but they deserve more recognition!

fun fact: when you have to un-knot something you crocheted because you messed up, it’s called frogging! i found this out a couple months ago and it’s so cute. i think the term originated from the words “rip it” because it sounds like the sound frogs make!

Yay for crochet! I love to knit and crochet, I've been doing it for years. Though lately I've been focusing on cross stitch. It looks like you are only going under one loop on your crochet. If you go under both, it will look like a v, your work will look a lot neater. It took me a long time to figure that out. If I'm wrong, just ignore me. I didn't get too good a look.

I totally relate to this video holyyyy. I just picked up my knitting again(learned @ 8) and have now successfully(ish) made my first sock?!?! Literally 12 years of knitting and it’s been SO daunting so I never thought I could and now I’m doing it and just started my next!!! Also a great indie band to check out would be the lumineers! I just saw them in concert and they were even more amazing and even had a DISCO BALL drop from the ceiling!!! If that ain’t a sign to listen idk what is. Also their music videos have HUGE deep meanings W cool interlacing stories between each video so I’d recommend watching them while you listen :) Anyways LOVED the video and would love to see al the crochet projects you do next! It’d be fun to start something now to wear in the fall🍂🤎
