Your videos have made me feel so much better about my body and I’ve never had a youtuber do that. I see really skinny youtubers talk about size doenst matter and it’s not very motivating. I’m usually about a size 10 so I just wanted to thank you. I love this series and it really does make me love my body more! I love your videos! Ps I don’t know if you’ll see this cause it’s kinda late but thank you.

I hate shopping just because of the inconsistent sizing. I was at kohls and a size 10 fit perfect in one pair of shorts. Another pair, different brand, size 15 I couldn't even get over my ass.
@mermaid17176 жыл бұрын
It could also be the fact that you're comparing a misses size to a junior size. The actual cut of each are different. Personally with my body type & size I wear junior bottoms because I have absolutely no butt or hips. And I could never think of wearing a junior top because I have a belly & huge boobs.
@theladygibson7546 жыл бұрын
Mer Maid That would be the case except I was shopping in the women's department. I'm 30, I don't need crop tops and booty shorts from the juniors section lol.
@mermaid17176 жыл бұрын
I'm 36 so I don't wear crops either. But my point was misses sizes/cuts don't come in 15. Misses are even numbers & junior cut are odd numbers. And because of that you may have picked up something that was actually junior cut.

I love how you kept reiterating that the actual number on the tag does NOT matter. For years, I would never go up a size if something didn't fit right. I'd just cry and blame my body, but it wasn't my body's fault! It's the fashion industry and their inconsistent sizing. Now, I wear clothes anywhere from a 14 to a 20. It really just depends on the brand/style/fabric. Anyway, you've been killing it with these self love videos. 💕💕

Watching this two years later, and it's taken me so long to be comfortable in my own body. I'm typically a size 10 or 12, and can be a medium or large, but for the longest time, I would buy clothes that were way too small for me because I was so obsessed with the letter/number. Hearing you say it's not about the number or letter was EVERYTHING, it was just so inspiring. Love you and your videos, definitely helping me with my self-confidence 💖

These videos are sooo important! We have the same body type and it's so refreshing to see you being so honest about it. You should try out Old Navy or Gap next! I love their clothes for basics/dresses because they are actually made for an adult woman's body and not a junior or teen. At any other store I run between a 12-14 and L/XL (or at Forever 21... a 2X), but at Old Navy/Gap I fit into 8-10 and M/L, which feels more right and true to what women are actually shaped like. It's proof that the number on the tag literally doesn't matter. Just wear what is right for you and your body.

Florence Catherine I thought the same thing. It sounds weird but I was always told they where to fit snug the first time and would stretch when you wash them a couple times.
@mermaid17176 жыл бұрын
They stretch as you wear them & give you a saggy man ass. I have no butt & no hips & I deal with this in all bottoms. At the same time I can't wear high waist anything because of the difference in my no butt & hips compared to my belly so yes.. if jeans fit perfect in the dressing room you can be guaranteed that if you buy them & wear them out you'll end up with saggy man ass instead of the perfect fitting jeans.

I bought those shorts in a size 12 too! I have a lot of trouble because I have to get the waist of a size 12 taken in since size 10 wouldn't even go over my thighs, but 12 is wayyyy too loose in my waist. We all have different bodies and it's so important to release that so many of us see ourselves as 'bigger' than everyone else. Before this series, I always saw your Instas and assumed you were way skinnier than me but turns out we're really similar sizes. We're all just too hard on ourselves! I'd love to see you try a more expensive brand too to see if the pricier brands have smaller sizing scales. Thinking like Express, the Limited, etc

The year of 2018 was the year I honestly stopped giving a damn about the number or letter in clothing. If it fits I buy. It doesn't matter what it says on the tag. Depending on where I buy clothes I can be an S, M or L. I can be a 10, 12, or 14 (UK) on the bottom. If clothes fit you properly they'll flatter your shape, make you feel confident and look awesome!
@qumbie066 жыл бұрын
Yes! Somewhere between this year and last I came to the same conclusion. A size is just a size, doesn't determine anything valuable about you. I have such a large range depending on the store. It's crazy how we can get so caught up in a number and let that determine worth on some levels. Truthfully, I still can fall into it at different times but usually it's when I get a smaller size than expecting to fit and it fits and a little bit of extra happiness comes but when I buy larger sizes I am not unhappy about it either so there is a balance in that.
@Nikcholey5 жыл бұрын
I just have to say, since watching your videos, my anxiety with shopping for clothes has gotten SO MUCH BETTER! Instead of picking up the size I think I "should" be, and feeling devastated when it doesn't fit, I am trying all different sizes of clothing with no feelings of shame or guilt. It's crazy to me that in one brand, I could be wearing a size small XS, and in another I wear a size 10. You have taught me that size doesn't matter AT ALL. I'm feeling MUCH better about my body, and more comfortable in my skin. THANK YOU SO MUCH!

Okay storytime: (hi my name is Carrie dayton lmao) I always buy my jeans from american eagle bc a sis is 6'1" and literally no one else makes jeans long enough and also they have that super stretch thing going on which I super appreciate and I wear a twelve in their jeans regularly. The other day I was doing some online clearance shopping for school (yeet) and they were out of certain sizes so I just sort of went for it because they have free returns anyway so I just figured I could send back anything that didn't fit. It had never occurred to me that I would be anything other than a twelve because it's all I've ever worn but i bought a mom short in a twelve and they WOULD NOT GO ON. Like literally. And my booty looked like a pancake?? No thanks. But then I tried a pair of shorts in a 14 and they fit me ACTUALLY perfectly, even though I've only ever worn a 12? Anyway moral of the story sizes are wild y'all

I love how Confident you are with your body and is not afraid to show/tell the size. I’m not Super confident with my body (which is very Similar to yours) but when I watch any of your videos I think to myself and say “I want to be her” I Become Super Confident with my Self Every video. you are doing Great on KZbin and Deserve Way more Subscribers than you already have. anyways I hope your having a fantastic Day. Xoxo, Alyssa (your biggest fan)

I'm so glad to have found your channel. Most KZbinrs seem to be XS, and I can't wear what they wear. These videos are so hilarious and I have been where you are. Thanks so much.

I’m a newbie! Already loving this channel! My mum has always said to me is ‘if it fits, it’s your size’ you don’t need to look at the number. It’s frustrating that so many brands vary though. Xx
