Damn, mine was almost 17 years ago. My dress is looking so ancient already. It had sleeves and was plain white. Very little beading and bling, too. I wanted to sell it but my mom stopped me. I tried it on a while ago and for some reason the bust is huge on me and the waist is alright. It’s also way longer than I remember it being. I’m shrinking into an old lady. 😭

The way how I didn’t have a big quince. My quince was November and it was a small thing, I had a short dress, but I loved how mine was it was more like me. I don’t like all the attention I don’t like to dance so much, it was pretty similar to any quince. Just no big dances and less money waisted. Heh I for sure ruined the tradition 😅

My kids choose a car. I am glad they did. We had extra money. We paid no money for their Associates or their Bachelors. My only focus. Now looking forward to spending some extra money on their actual wedding day. For that....we DO have money. As a Mexican parent, this tradition has got to stop or just simplify it to fit your budget. It is ridiculous, finance your kids education first. I have known families that spend hard earned money in upwards of 15-20 thousand dollars. Have nothing left to their name. & struggle with even the basics on starting College. Good luck to all you ladies. You are all beautiful & you made your parents proud.
