It's sad that no matter what girls get criticized for their body's. People want us to have huge butts and boobs but a tiny waist all under the weight of 100lbs it's real not fair. And if a girl gains weight she's called fat. But little do u know that girl could be recovering from the effect of being called fat or big and it can undo what she's tried to do. Even if a girl loses weight. I was 140 lbs in 6th grade I didn't look it cuz I was kind of tall (5'3) but I saw it in myself. 7th grade I lost 5lbs. I was happy. By the summer of 7th transitioning to 8th grade I weighed 123 lbs. I grew 3 inches and I was soooooo happy with my body. Unfortunately my friends teachers and even mother questioned my weight loss and asked if I was eating/throwing up. It made me sad cuz I was eating well and I felt good. Sorry for rambling but just wanted to get it out. DONT BODY SHAME OR JUDGE GIRLS OR BOYS

Colleen please remember that you are a temple for your baby. Your body is your baby's safe haven. Im 19 weeks right now and I have had severe anorexia in my teen years. My therapist told me last week when I told him that I'm having trouble looking in the mirror and loving what I see that every bite of food I eat is feeding the miracle inside me. Now everytime I eat I think about how Im making my baby so healthy and strong. No matter what size you are right now, you have a beautiful soul and youre beautiful inside and out. I want you to fight those thoughts. Everytime you think that you aren't beautiful I want you to look in the mirror and DEMAND your thoughts back. You are in control. Fight for your thoughts back. Omg now im crying im not sure if its the hormones or the fact that I relate to you and your journey.

When you ask someone what beauty is they would say “long thick hair and skinny people non hairy and curvy” but it’s not......it’s confident and loving and kind and giving and selfless and self loving and caring. The beauty on the inside shines brighter than the beauty on the outside. No body becomes friends with someone because their pretty on the outside.....they become friends with you because they love your personality and how kind and caring you are, because your fun to be around....not because your most pretty, popular and how much boys like you. Everyone is pretty. On the outside and on the inside. We shouldn’t be comparing each other from the way we look....we shouldn’t even be comparing each other at all. The end when Colleen was talking about body image seriously made me cry. I’ve despised my body for years and I’m still not completely OK with the way I look but it made me realise that I’m beautiful. Seeing big people be so confident with themselves makes me happy but it doesn’t affect the way that I feel. But Colleen talking about all of that stuff made me look in the mirror and realise that I am beautiful. I looked at myself and cried because for once in my entire life, I truly felt pretty. I’ve never worn anything right because I thought it made me look fat but today I wore a tight shirt and loved the way it looked on me. I don’t think that I’m skinny but I also don’t think that’s a bad thing. I don’t think that I’m overweight because I’m not but I think that my body is beautiful. I don’t care what people say. I don’t care what people think, this is my body and I love it. I’ve never been able to say that truthfully but now I can, everybody’s body is perfect in every way and I mean that! I know that insecurity is so hard to deal with and I can’t just tell you that you’re beautiful and it’ll go away. But please try and believe me when I say that everyone on this planet is beautiful.

This honestly broke my heart to watch. Not because of the message but because of how broken society is and to see the hurt in your eyes. This is Alice yup that’s true! I’ve been so skinny that actually complete strangers asked me if I’m okay every once and again and guess what, I wasn’t. I’ve been anorexic for about eight years and some people just never knew, they assumed I’m naturally skinny and were jealous. At that time the jealous people mattered more to me than the ones who were concerned (sadly that’s how an anorexic brain works, compliments on your sick body are your food for the day) but today I’m glad there were people at all wondering if I’m alright.

The way we learn is not the quality of the message, it is the quantity of the message. And everyone gets the message that "only thin is beautiful" hundreds of times a day from so many different sources. It's invisible to you until you have to think about it because you're no longer in that class of people, and then you realize what you've learned about it and how strong that message is. It was the same way when I started gaining weight on birth control after being 109lbs from 9th grade through college. Whether you agree with the message or regardless of how terrible and damaging that message is for so many people, we all know it and until it is made visible to us we can't challenge it. That does not mean it is true, it just means it is what we learn through being exposed to a high quantity message. So we need to work on a) reducing the quantity of the harmful message and b) increasing the quantity of the message that beauty can include a lot of people with a lot of different body types and colors and sizes and shapes.

Don’t be ashamed of the weight you gained! Plus you gotta remember your baby’s like 7-8 pounds plus the fluid in there and the milk your bodies producing so that takes away like 15 pounds. And I notice you saying things about your thighs but they have to get more lean to help ya carry that baby that’s in your tummy! And after you have your baby, you’ll have a chance to lose your pregnancy weight and it’ll help when he’s out! My friend was thin like you before pregnancy and she gained some weight when she was pregnant. She lost it all and went back around to her original weight from before she was pregnant. You’re still young girl! And beautiful💛 we love you and support you always !!!

This helped me so much! I’m in sixth grade and I am very insecure about my body. I was just starting to think that I was skinny. Then I was like Oml I feel amazing! I feel skinny! A couple weeks later, I’m sitting next to my crush in science class, I asked him what he thought of me bc his friend said that he knew what he thought of me and wouldn’t tell me bc it was bad. So he tells my friend Avery bc he didn’t want to hurt my feelings. He called me “Ellie with a big belly.” I can’t even explain how much it hurt me. I didn’t want to show that it upset me. We sat there watching a video and I was quietly crying. I couldn’t believe he thought about me that way. Now I’m more insecure than ever about my body. I learned that it doesn’t matter what other people think of me. I am me and God loves me this way. It really hurt but God thinks I’m perfect.
