Hairstylist here! You have to lift it with bleach when your hair is that dark for any purple color to show up :) I think you could rock the purple. Love it !

I absolutely agree that darker colors would look great on you! Dark brown, black, dark red, or dark colors/tones like the dark, tinted purple too c: I love deep, royal/amethyst purple and I think it'd look great on you like how you talked about where it's more of a tint then a bold color. I use to dye my hair 'black cherry' where indoors it looked super dark, but when I'd step outside it had a red-purple (burgundy I GUESS) shade to it. I think even black roots fading to a dark red tint would look great on you, you've got that little rocker aesthetic like Janay said~

the purple looks really good!! i had my hair almost exactly like that wig but my roots were much lighter and the purple was darker and i LOVED it, i had it for like 2 years! but if you put purple on top of what you have now it’s literally not going to show up at all unless in direct hard sunlight, just so you know! i put it on my roots and my natural colour is way lighter than yours and it ONLY showed in direct direct sunlight and lasted only a week or two
