Supagard paint seal cream is best, it beads for months.

Did you avoid or coat the plastics? Does it seal in whatever you use to 'black' the bumpers etc or does it react?

I avoided the plastics. I don’t use anything on the bumpers and black trim, I just wash them.

If you park up your 1989 BMW car, for the next six years. Then get your BMW registered with DVLA and then issued, basically with a Historic Vehicle Car Tax certificate or classification documents. Your old or classic and vintage vehicle, even a high polluting vehicle, is "ULEZ" exempt! So if everyone buy's classic or vintage cars, or motorcycles, or vans, or minibuses, or even taxis, buses and lorries too. As long as they are 40 years old, on or before the 29th of August 2023, plus have been issued with DVLA Historic Vehicle Tax Certificate. They are exempt from the Mayor of London Sadiq Khan "ULEZ" and Congestion Charging Zone! Or expemt from any Council's "ULEZ" and Congestion Charging Zone fees, it seems too! This may not be good news, for either new electric cars sales. Or for the value and sales of second hand, that are less than 40 years old. Though this could cause a growing market, in 40 year old plus classic and vintage vehicles, which have years of road use still in them! Anyway cars from the early 1980's and late 1970's, let alone the 1960's and 1950's. Were vintage and classic cars, in more than one way, now it seems! It seems your 1989 BMW 3-series maybe a classic, but is just not old enough yet! To be exempt from Mayor Khan "ULEZ" expansion daily charging Policy, you just need to wait it seems for another 6 years? That all then your beloved BMW classic 3-series car, will be exempt too. We heard of a classic 1956 Morris Minor Traveller, going for sale for around £1,800 and "ULEZ" exempt too!

You’re right and I have thought about it but a) I have no space to store it, b) I use this car regularly so need what is pretty much a daily driver and c) leaving these things standing around I don’t think is good for them, they need… they WANT to be driven!!

As it seems Military Vehicles are equally "ULEZ" exempt too, so you could buy a second hand Chieftain Tank. Or buy a second hand Scorpion Tank, the fastest tank on the battlefield too, In both case these British Tanks, have poor milage though and large fuel bill, between £900 to £1,000 to fill their tanks up, but vehicle insurance is low. Then you could legally drive, your new purchased Chieftain diesel-powered Tank. Or Scorpion petrol- or diesel-powered Tank, in and out of London totally exempt from daily "ULEZ" charges! Other vehicles that seem to be exempt from paying, the Mayor of London Khan "ULEZ" daily charges, are the likes of the following vehicles. Agricultural Vehicles and Excavators and Mobile Cranes, so you could buy a second hand JCB 3 Excavator. A great vehicle for the weekly shopping, with a large deep bucket up front, for the wife and kids to seat in with open air views all round, plus a smaller to medium bucket at the rear to put all your weekly shopping in too!
