The gel would react differently with a different technique. If you want your hair flatter and more defined that gel will work. You can use a base like a botanical gel (like UFD curly magic, no leave in or heavy cream to block the hold of the gel) then put this gel on top on soaking wet hair and simply rake it through. Then you would need to sit under a dryer or use a diffuser to lock everything in place. You will be shocked by how much your hair will lay down and your curls will clump. But all this really isn't necessary because your current styling is beautiful and signature.

If you ever try it again, try it on soaking wet hair. Section, apply, dangle, and shingle. It will be super defined.

It seems that you look gorgeous no matter how your hair turns out. My wash n gos have become my go to style because they’re so quick for me. Your hair is super thick (like my daughter’s😀) and she usually doesn’t fuss over her hair and poof! just like yours it always looks amazing! I on the other hand have less than half the density of you two so I can do mine with a leave in and mousse...it’s fluffy, shiny and soft. I’d like to see you play around with some different curl creams and gels...thanks for sharing🌹

Putting gel on wet hair ideal, you will get the most definition.

As I learned, your hair is trained to what it's use to. So with the gel, it said "what is this?? Nah sis!" lol Makeup is so beautiful!

I feel that once you train your hair with the products you like and the look that you like, it's not really receptive to changes after a while. For me, applying product in shower and shaking works best, and shingling, raking, twisting, braiding, etc, doesn't work at all.

Your hair looks cute with or without gel. Not all gels are the same Cantu and Eco Style gels are just meh for me, but Camille Rose Curl Maker is everything, definition and moisture with just finger detangling. you have to do it on soaking wet hair though.

My wash and go first day hair is just for walking around the house. 😂😂. I love my hair more and more as it gets older.

Your hair always looks amazing. For different results, style on soak & wet hair, conduct technique w/ small-medium size sections of hair, apply generous amount product from roots to tips, detangle w/ detangling brush (I like to dip brush in water), finger rake, & shingle. Sit under a hooded drier set on high for 30 to 45 minutes; air dry the rest. Btw, I have 4b/c hair. You are a minimalist when it comes to your hair, so your probably like.....who is doing all of that 😂 Anyhow, stay safe; stay well.

Najjah I agree ... T is use to literally washing and going lol Adding products and tools is something she isn’t use to yet . Plus it will be way more time consuming too . I love her hair . It’s like the perfect fro ❤️

Fartuna Haji IDK about the gel but I literally had to throw away their products because it didn’t moisturize my hair. ( I always finish products before buying anything else, so it was really bad because I could make them work)

You need soaking wet hair and big globs of gel. When you get to each section spray it down with water just to be sure it’s wet. You’ll know you’ve used enough gel if your hair takes hours to air dry.
