James, build a tight fitting frame to go around the filter to stop it bowing, then change the dividing baffles so they only overflow to the next chamber, then you can have a drain on each chamber and drain them in a cycle i.e. only drain one chamber a week then you are not doing such a big water change

How about putting water through a sieve first. Can get them cheap second hand. Then the bay filter. Wouldn't use much water on cleaning then. Or just the shower.

I have a small vortex before an eazypod, i always knew the vortex i got was undersized for the flow and pond so it never really created a good enough vortex to catch the majority. I added the mechanical filtration at the top of the vortex to slow the flow and it def helps. I can go months without a deep clean of the eazypod now and its a well overstocked 5000ltr system with only a little veg filtration by the return waterfall.

It might do but just wanted to try it out see what happens over time it can easily be changed, but I am thinking the drum filter I have take most of the debris so I don’t believe they’ll get that bad but it’s worth a test

Genuine question, and no I am not a hater…. When you came back to vlogging after you issues,, you said your pond and fish were doing fine, no issues etc.. having been pretty much left alone, as you said you had been sorting out your issues. Now you are back up and running, changing this changing that, introducing new fish you now seem to be having some issues with the fish. I wonder if once you have got a stable system and everything is running well, should you just live and let live rather than starting to tinker and potentially upset the status quo.

Yea you are right with some of that mate 100% but tbh I was not really interested in the pond when I went of the road and it’s always nice to add a few new koi and make a few upgrades to try and make it better for the koi but you are right sometimes less is more

What size bottom drain is your pipework? I'm building a new pond and debating 3 inch or 4 inch... my drum connection is a 3 inch.

If you're not one hundred percent happy with the filter for your grow on pond just get rid of it.. otherwise it may cause you more headaches later in the future...and of course let misses Whisperer have the cloth because you have stolen enough T towels in the past haven't you 😅
