Trying Out a New Setup - Cajon / Kick Drum / Hi-hat

I'm playing with a new band where their previous percussionist played cajon with a stomp and a hi-hat. The band wanted me to give it a go so here is a video of me trying it out! Let me know what you guys think.

Not really informed on how to build drums but is it possible to put like a crash cymbal (Or a close analog) on top of the kick?

That is a great idea. I think a cymbal would be an awesome addition to this set up
