@@eriklarson9137 I don’t take anything away from Dirk. He just has a different method that works for him. I appreciate both equally. I tremendously enjoyed watching each of them going through their process. Something to learn from all these drummers 😊
@soulessshadow5356
@soulessshadow5356 3 ай бұрын
@@eriklarson9137 You'd be surprised how many drummers are self taught without learning to read music. Hence why Domino's process works better for those of us that learned that way. Dirks method is still fantastic for learning songs, but you HAVE to be able to read and understand sheet music and charting to use his method. You'll probably learn better using Dirks method if you can read sheet music, but Domino's works better for the drummers who can't. Nothing wrong with either method though, and it's all about using what works best for you to get better at your instrument. This goes for anything from drums to guitar, and all the way to brass and woodwind insturments like trumpet, trombone, flute, and clairnet.

Damn those Paiste cymbals sound gorgeous. One thing I absolutely LOVE about Domino’s appearance (and also Greyson’s) is she’s using a very basic kit, with just two toms and minimal cymbals - it doesn’t matter; she still rocks it out, even without the elaborate kits some other Drumeo guests bring to the studio.

My wife didn't as much because her favorite album is Once More Round The Sun and they didn't play any songs from that album lol. Domino Santantonio is the best because she’s so humble yet so enthusiastic and outstanding with her Slipknot and Mastodon interpretations, and she’s a joy to watch. She’s talented and I hope she goes far. FWIW I’m not a drummer but like to listen to music details. I discovered Drumeo a couple of days ago and have been binging ever since. It’s fascinated how different drummers are from band to band and how they influence the music. I never realized how a drummer's style affects the overall music experience and have discovered this from the “Genius” series of videos, but the the biggest shock was how Dirk Vebeuren’s interpretation of The Killers “Mr. Brightside” completely changed the experience of the song by slowing it down. Very impressive.
