Very impressed with the aluminum 3d printed parts I got from PCBWAY. the cost is fair. Here is a link to PCBWAY in case you want to check them out for yourself.

Hi John! Thank you very much for sharing this comparative test with all these details (including costs) with us. I just learned that it is possible to order (only) a few printed metal parts and not thousands... This opens up a world of possibilities!

WOW you've outdone yourself on this very interesting and helpful exercise! I'm definitely going to check out PCBWAY. A few years ago I 3D-printed a custom front sprocket chain guard/cover for my beloved old mountain bike, in PLA. Amazingly, it lasted 5 years until my front derailleur shifter malfunctioned causing the chain to come off the front sprocket to the outside and it broke off a couple of the bolt attachment points. So I've been planning to get my 3D printer out of mothballs and print another. OTOH after watching this video I may get a PCBWAY quote to have it printed in aluminum. :) BTW after living in Thailand for nearly 20 years, and dealing with foreign currencies/exchange rates, I would definitely not recommend Paypal for most international transactions. Instead I would use your US based VISA credit card and simply set the price when ordering to US dollars. There should not be any additional fees and you won't have to worry about a poor exchange rate. Thanks again for your time and efforts making _Robothut_ such an interesting channel! 👍😁👍

I have used PayPal to buy things since it first existed, but I do not accept any payment from Pay Pal as they refuse to give me my money unless I give them my SSN, bank info and a long list of other things. So using them to purchase things is fine but using them for me getting paid is out of the question.

The aluminum example is pretty impressive. I wonder if the "bank fee" is for currency conversion.

It is a Pay Pal charge possibly for currency conversion.

@@Robothut also I forgot to mention that in order to avoid any shrinkage issues I always very slightly scale up parts that go over other fittings as like the cages and the clear parts do
@Robothut
@Robothut Ай бұрын
@@WarlockCore I wanted to test that, so left everything just as designed in CAD. They fit perfectly, so either no shrinkage or PCBWAY knows what the shrinkage will be and adjusts for it.
