Sima is basically just like lemonade, but I guess there should not be so much bubbles. It should have some alcohol, cuz it has been in your granny's house for ages... :-)

I agree on that😁

Home made is better. Try making it yourself. Sima does not scale well for industrial process, so those in shops are never very good. BTW. Home made ones can be either "chid proof" or even strongly alkohol containing. 😊

I'm bit concerned nobody gave you any tips about good( or even passable store bought sima's). That Vip one is probably the worst..

I didn’t ask anyone and was a bit in a rush😅 but if this one is the worst, then sima is even better than I think😄

@@AlenaTalks Look for "fariinisokeri" and actual lemon from the ingredients list. The less juice concentrates and stuff that replaces real ingredients, the better. They are way more expensive though. My favorite is "Kaskein Juhlasima".

None of the sima in regular stores tastes like homemade, real sima.

I hope I’ll make some next year☺️

@@AlenaTalks I was about to comment that you need to do your own sima to get any real sima. But I was too late with that suggestion. In reality people have different preferences. But for me, those industrial sima products almost always leave me disappointed. But home made doesn't automatically mean that it's better, only that it could be.

@@just42tube You can buy real sima as well, but not necessarily from your local grocery store. It depends of the owners and whether they want to make a deal with some small producer. But for example here they just had a stand outside the grocery stores and sold their sima there. Also while we are at it, another drink to consider is Louhisaaren juoma / lehtimehu / Marskin sima. It is similar to sima but it is made of blackcurrant leaves. Unfortunately this is not sold anywhere so your only option is to make it at home.

@@vaenii5056 My experience, or impression, has been that these more seasonal products are difficult in that sense that better quality comes with higher cost, which in the longer run is likely to make those disappear or use their brand name to sell and lower quality until there is no better quality any more. Very small operations, which don't try to compete of the shelve space in grocery stores or try to grown their business might be different in this regard. I am not really motived enough to try to find good sima to buy. I settle to just buying some different ones from my usual stores and try them out to see which I would prefer. Usually I have had also homemade sima available for me.
