It definitely was and she looked beautiful but they marketed it in a way that made it look super inclusive of many different skin tones and it really wasn’t. I have extremely pale skin, like the lightest shade of any foundation brand in drugstores never fit me hence the need to use Korean makeup, and i definitely agree. 100% a marketing issue. Very pale or albino people need makeup too. You just need to let people know that it won't work on other skintones and that's fine. Not every color is for every skintone but don't lie about it either.
@catherinemccright125623 күн бұрын
They lie because if by God they made a shad that was lighter and not inclusive EVERYONE would hear about it and cancel them, ho do they make a lighter shade, without making 377 more shades for all skins?
@cande902323 күн бұрын
@catherinemccright1256 pretty sure YSL has inclusive ranges of color across most of their "major" makeup products. You can't be inclusive if you don't have colors for lighter skins as well as darker ones. Again, just don't lie about it. Pretty simple and other brands have done it successfully before with no backlash.

The main issue with these blushes is the claim that it fits all skin tones and thats why they are getting the hate they are getting. If they left that part out it wouldnt be so bad for them. The marketing team chose to use a women with dark skin (clearly wearing a DIFFERENT blush) so this was deliberate false marketing. Apparently it looks good on very fair, unfreckled skin
@No-ue5pi22 күн бұрын
This would probably work for me because I'm extremely pale, but especially with that opacity, there's just no way in hell that it could work for all skin tones, and I don't know who thought it was a good idea to market it that way. If it was more of a sheer jelly-like formula, then maybe, but like this? No way. I don't know what it is they used on the model but I have a hard time believing it was that product in that shade. I understand brands are afraid of backlash if their range isn't up to snuff, but it doesn't help to market a product this way when it's just clearly not true. So many brands totally miss the point of that push for more inclusion in recent years. It's perfectly okay to make products that aren't universal, it's normal for different skin tones to have different needs in a makeup product. The problem arises when you ONLY have options for light skin, or the darker end of your range is clearly an afterthought that wasn't given the amount of consideration it deserved (I'm looking at you, Youthforia.) As long as you give the darker range just as much attention and put proper thought and work into actually doing it well, you're FINE.
@hope4fur13017 күн бұрын
I don’t know why they thought lavender would work as a blush in general! The whole point is that it’s warmer than your skin tone😅 I haven’t seen anyone else try this out but I can’t see it looking great on anyone honestky
