I know you said your engagement has been way down since you buzzed your hair, but I honestly love seeing you get to try so many different hairstyles, colors, and cuts with wigs that you otherwise wouldn't be able to (or at least not in succession). It took me almost 3 years to grow my pixie out.. I had to get haircuts to trim the very bottom of my hair every 3 weeks so I didn’t look like I had a mullet lol

My teen daughter told me two years ago: “mom, nobody wears layers anymore.” I do because all one length hair drags my face down. I’m glad to see them back in style. And guess who got layers? Lol! My brother says “you’ve had your hair the same way since your teens ( the 90s) and it’s like this also. Long and layered.. I love it and have no intention of ever changing it. I’ve played with the color and length (never as high as the shoulders) but it’s always been long.

Hey there I'm 63 and boy did we wear this cut and variations of it back in the earlier 70s. Glam rock rock stars wore it as well and if they had curlier hair it came out looking so luxurious! I think Marc Bolan of T. REX sported a variation of that. Rock on, folks!

This was the first haircut i actually learned like 15 years old. "Old" stuff always comes back. Cut this on my sister and everyone always asked where she got the cut from .

Gotta love how the same basic cuts get different names every decade they come back. The main difference I think is in styling techniques & personalization of length/what kind of layers you get & where the layers hit proportionally to your face. In the 70s & 80s curls were big & everyone washed/ styled their hair daily & got perms for added volume.

I'm thinking about doing it. My hair is down to my butt right now and needs a good trim, so it looks healthier. I've been thinking about cutting it with some layers for a LONG time just to change things up and give me some texture. I've had my hair straight without layers for 31 years, ever since I was 16 and my mother made me get a haircut I hated, thinking it would help my headaches. It didn't. lol

Oh my gosh, why is everyone saying this style is from the 90’s!!?? It’s NOT!!!! That is straight out of the 70’s, a WAAAAYYYY BETTER decade than the 90’s. 70’s/80’s hair is what you have going on. 90’s was all about flat hair, no volume.

The difference between this and the "wolf cut" is not the "butterfly" one being longer, since it can be made in short hairs too, it's that this have way more layers, like, in the back this have way more volume than a "wolf cut" who is more plain in the back.

The volume up top does feel 90s (Cindy Crawford) but this is essentially a feathered shag very similar to Farrah or Heather Locklear

Gorgeous. In my day it was called the Farrah Fawcett cut. That was late 70’s. It would look even better with retro make up. Blush was extremely important at the time this hairstyle became iconic. You want to wear a lighter lip color and a softer look around your eyes, perhaps using an eye pencil or even eyeshadow as your eyeliner...
