Trying The Famous EGGS ONLY Indian Restaurant! Eggmania Review

When it comes to vegetarian food, few cuisines do it better than Indian food. In the west, when people think of vegetarian food they often think of dry veggie burgers and salads known more for health and low calories than enjoyment. Not the case with Indian food! India has a very large vegetarian population, so they have mastered the use of spices, sauces, legumes, and cheese so you will not miss meat at all! Trust me, this is even coming from a steak and burger loving carnivore like me!
Eggmania in Jersey City is one of the most interesting of these best vegetarian Indian restaurants. Eggmania specializes in, you guessed it, eggs! So, sorry. This spot is not Vegan-friendly. But if you're looking for vegetarian cuisine, eggs are a common substitute for meat due to their low cost, high protein, and great taste! I hear that Eggmania is one of the best Indian restaurants in New Jersey and one of the best Indian restaurants in New York City, at least if counting the Greater New York Area.
We will try some very neat Indian egg dishes. Egg katori, egg biryani, and surti gotala. This is an egg-celent Indian food adventure you do not want to miss!

Very nice UA! When I lived in England, Indian was the go-to fast food. Here, it's White Castle 😂😂(2 minutes from me) So... The dishes (Don't remember the names, going in order) 1. Looks absolutely delicious. I like the unmelted cheese. Think finishing cheeses in many cultures. (Feta, pecorino, cotija...) I have been playing with masala at home, and that's definitely mixed with the yolk, and my guess probably a little yogurt. My favorite of the 3. 2. The curry looks great, but there's so much more visceral information I would need to chime in. Very nice, I'm sure. 3. Love the volcano, definitely thinking mashed potatoes! I will always try the heat and take the overkill! Great lunch dish there. I also loved the cheese throughout the dishes. I'm darn good at cooking eggs, but this is all phenomenal. Thanks for another awesome review!

The "joke" poster on the wall, in Hindi eggs are pronounced as "Andaas" and there was a cult movie from back in the day here in India called "Andaz Apna Apna" (1994) (Roughly translated to: To Each Their Own), so the pun is replacing "Andaz" with :Andaas" (eggs), basically just like everyone has their own traits and characteristics (Hindi: Andaz) similarly the chickens too have their own "Andaas" (Eggs). I know it sounds very lame when you break it down like that but this is a very old and recurring pun here in India, I think it was even used in the National Egg Campaign to get people to consume eggs for their nutritional value. I had a searingly hot AF habanero lamb at an Indian resto and it was epic and I'll never forget it! Sometimes you have to brave it and sweat it out! I did have to order some beer and tea afterward!

If you ever get a chance to try a nepali hakka restaurant I'd recommend any sort of dish that offers dragon flavoring, preferably Dry which I prefer but I encourage you to try the gravy version as well, dragon fish dry, dragon paneer dry, dragon chicken dry etc etc

Surti means from Surat which is in Gujarat. Most of Jersey Indian migrants are from Gujarat in India. Theyre a bit fanatical about Vegetarianism..so the men tend to eat eggs outside their Vegetarian homes and the egg recipes have gone pretty extreme . Surat and Baroda especially! Ghotala means a jumbled mess or mixture. So Ghotala from Surat.

NYC is definitely not the Indian food capitol. However, If you want great Pakistani or Bangladeshi food in NYC, definitely head to Jackson Heights, Jamaica, LIC/south Astoria or Kensington BK. Just a warning, their cuisine is meat heavy unlike Indian cuisine.

Anda (pronounced undah) is Egg in Hindi ( and a few other Indian languages) and Andaaz means taste or style, and that sounds like the plural of Anda. So it's a horrid pun. Andaaz apna apna! ( Apna means oneself) So translates loosely as Eggs to everyone's taste / style!
