Been running 1.4 for the past few months, and it's crazy just how much this game has changed from 1.2, and not necessarily in a good way. It kinda feels like compared to Drayano's style of balancing, which is giving the player a bunch of strong tools to fight back against all the AI's BS, Aphex ended up removing any tools that are remotely strong like gems or choice items. Because of that, you get situations where you're fighting against Timid Life Orb Sheer Force Nidoking with perfect coverage, while your best Water move at that point is Bubble Beam. It ends up turning a lot of major fights in the game into box checks where you abuse glitches like ability storage, or use the few broken mons like Medicham and Volcarona that are allowed to be good and not nerfed into the ground like Mismagius or Infernape (seriously, it doesn't get Close Combat until Level 70 now).

Yea I’ve spoken about it a lot: the new changes really hurt the game. It’s just completely different balance wise nowadays and the drastic changes are uncalled for imo

Should note this is also the older version of the game which has a harder early game than the current one. Roxy is considerably nerfed since her Golbat gets replaced by qwilfish anf her koffing gets thunderbolt replaced by poison gas. The fight is still hard, but one Drxx played is very frustrating because some runs are instantly dead from getting bad encounters.

Gen 4 AI can also choose Trick Room over a kill👀There is a Rhyperior in Sterling Silver that consistently did it vs my Glaceon when I tested. For some reason it never did that to my other Pokemon though

Question at 11:32 why is the team shown different from the team on the document during the Burgh fight? Like on the first one shown Yanmega does not have Tailwind Masquerain does but in the document during the fight Yanmega has Tailwind? Parts of both are correct like the first one shown has Yanmega learning detect and it used detect. Masquerain has Giga Drain but on the second one it does not. Vespiquen has Air slash in the first but in the second it has Acrobatics.

@@Drxxyt I know, a bunch of poor fundamental changes in my opinion. I discussed this with drayano and he said he wanted to do something unique with redux, and that is what he did I suppose. The game is very much unique and a great challange none the less.

It's insane to see how much this locke has changed from 1.2 to 1.4 Some fights are easier and Oshawott got giga buffed thanks to Razor Shell, but now you have so many strats like pre damage and gems that just don't work in 1.4 since you get pre healed before gym leaders (except Hoenn) and don't have access to gems

yeah its really upsetting to me how much the game changed in future patches. Obv im not gonna go back and redo just because theres a new patch. Just disapointed that theres extremely little consistency. No gems is like the biggest balance change of all time

@@slicklol I would argue early game is considerably easier but late game is way harder in 1.4 No Cobalion or Terrakion, and no gems is the biggest thing in regard to that Skyla's big threats are her lead in 1.2, which makes it easier, and Drayden being a double battle in 1.4 makes him significantly harder to plan for. Several pokemon getting noticeably nerfed didn't help as well, Venusaur being a huge sore thumb there.

To be clear, you aren’t breaking BURGH’S level cap, but COLRESS’ level cap because your Pokémon are level 30 before fighting him.
