The dating app thing is a myth born from a student project that had the 'incest warning' put in as a joke, but yeah we have a website where you can check how related you are to another person that uses a huge database from deCODE genetics but its main purpose is not for incest avoidance more to look at your lineage and see how related you are to your friends. If you're actually close family you'd most likely know before you hook up with the person cause everyone kind of knows everyone.

I play 867 Norse a lot. Asatru allows concubines so you can have a lot of kids and use Scandinavian Election to avoid bad successions. After a few generations, I've ended up with over 2000 members in my dynasty. I do matrilineal marriages for my daughters, but the AI controlled characters don't, so eventually everyone is cousins.
