Would just like to point out that some of these paints are cadmium shades, meaning cadmium is in the paint and as a result BE CAREFUL if you decide to use them - cadmium is found in a lot of oil paint too, and some golden acrylic paint. It’s harmful if ingested or inhaled too much so just do your research first if you don’t know much about it. I realized I should probably just include a warning in case you weren’t aware of the dangers of cadmium. Thank you for watching!

@@emilyauld8622 There is! If Cadmium colors have Hue in the name (aka ex. Cadmium Yellow Hue, etc) that means it's Cadmium _colored_, but no Cadmium in the paint. Hope that helps ❤

Depends on the piece. On furniture and nails, I prefer glossy. Walls and canvas type art, matte.

I think I'll have to agree. As much as I like my Winsor and Newton Galeria acrylics, I find painting with them difficult because of the glare I get from the light reflecting off it.. I'll have to give these a try if I can get a hold of them here

So I know this is an art channel. I also know you have tons of followers. I just wanted to give you a tip on non-art things. Echoing: hang sheets, blankets, quilts, lengths of fabric, etc on the walls of you want to stop the echoing while you wait eons for the furniture. For you doggo: it’s oddly easier to teach replacement actions than teaching a dog to stop doing something. So if you want no growling at the window (not something I would do, but in the city it seems fairly ordinary), then teach your baby to do something different when he (he? She?) sees a person at the window. For example, so people have pillows that are specifically for their dogs to pick up when they know someone is at the door. So they pick up pillows, go to the door, then they can’t bark bc pillows are in their mouths. Do whatever you’d like, just thought some input could help. Love your channel so much btw!

Buy a "moving blanket" from your nearest u-haul or similar and hang it on the wall that you are facing to fix your echo cheaply and easily. It's what a lot of home music producers do for recording.

Just in case you continue to have sound problems, you can temporarily hang blankets on the walls to reduce echoes and bouncing sound during your recording sessions, not the best background for videos but much better sound for your videos.

The painting turned out great, and the matte colours fit the style - and I can imagine a matte painting is easier to photograph than a shiny one. I've never had specifically matte acrylics, but I think I had a matte medium at one point.

When I started making videos it was the single most awkward thing I've ever experienced. And it's not like I don't talk to myself out loud in normal everyday life. I do it all the time. Thinking out loud helps you remember stuff better. But doing intros and outros and all that KZbinry stuff never gets less awkward.

When your doing a background you always have the option of letting it dry and going over it with a light sponging technique with a lighter color and blending it in. Your bird is adorable!

One thing you might want to do while waiting for furniture to fill out your studio is get a bunch of carpet samples to just toss around the room, hang on some of the walls, it'll help reduce the echo. The paints are GORGEOUS colors but I'm totally in the minority here and am not a fan of matte paints. I have a hard time getting any sort of depth out of them.

To make it echo less, you can always hang up some fabric (e.g. curtains) on the walls! It absorbs the sound surprisingly well! 😊 I noticed a lot of video conference rooms doing this when I was a cleaner 😁

Sorry if someone already said this, but Golden has a teal that looks almost exactly like cobalt teal, but is very opaque with great coverage. I used the Golden Fluid version all the time. It doesn’t have cobalt in it, so it’s also safer for your painted hands ;)

Hang a nice coloured rug or blanket on the wall behind you and in a couple of spots around the room and put a large area rug down on the floor (if you already have one or can borrow one for now). This will cut out alot of that echo. I saw this in a tutorial about filming for youtube, so I'm sure it's sound advice.

I'm pretty sure matte acrylic and acrylic gouache are basically the same thing. It's just that a matte finish is typically associated with gouache, so you kind of get the vibe of what you're about to buy. Looking at what they're made of though, "matte acrylic" would really be more honest IMO :p
