Festering wounds make the W build work because of how it works in team fights. When you auto someone with the W debuff on them it spreads the W effect to all nearby enemies (heroes included) so if you haunted wave through an enemy team and then w and auto the tank the whole team will start taking damage from your W and the stack numbers explode. Granted you lose some mobility but that’s why this build often took will of the forsaken instead of life drain.

Smite Grinder Assuming the enemy has no other armour (de-)buffs, isn't that exactly what it is? I haven't played hots on a while, was armoir changed?

@@janniszimbalski6652 no, armor hasn't been changed since it was added... But it says "the center deals 50% more damage." Not "the center removes 50 armor for the duration of the silence." The difference is all armor buffs and debuffs are exclusively referred to as armor now... And that 50% increased damage has no duration... Thus meaning it only effects the damage of the center portion of the arrow, and nothing else (it's like saying talents that simply increase basic attack damage cause those autos to shred armor, which is not the case)

So here's why the haunting wave talent at level 7 is so much better. Yeah, you're not getting your W up as fast... But with the way teamfights tend to work, and the way your E is going to be hitting multiple people, you're going to be stacking your W three-to-five times as fast.

the haunting wave talent to give 3 stacks is really good, itgives you a super strong ambush build and also allows massive spread/stacking by waving ont o an entire team and getting stacks from everybody ive hit 350+ stacks like that before

But the issue is that taking that talent locks her out of her only escape option. Which is why, as far as I'm concerned, that talent is nothing but a trap talent.

It's not just "really good" it's necessary for every build. The opportunities not to take it are rare and entirely based on the enemy team comp. You have no control over whether you get to take another talent at 7.

@@azurblueknights Walking works just fine. You can even dive right into full teams with windrunner just fine. The wailing arrow combo require a lot of training at every possible distance. You need the haunting wave to land immediately before Wailing Arrow. Stacks are attached to every form of utility Sylvanas has to keep herself alive except WoTF. You shouldn't save it for a standard escape, it's not fast enough anyway. You save it for the Unstoppable when you need it. I'm telling you, there are more counters to not taking Festering Wounds than there are to Festering Wounds. And there is no build that cannot sub in Festering Wounds and make good use of it.

Walking away from a diver all up in your grill has got to be the funniest thing I've read in a KZbin comment's section in quite a while. I reckon if "walking away" from a diver (who, by their classification, has tools to completely ignore or negate your ability to "walk away") actually worked, divers wouldn't be a thing. 'Scuse me while I go laugh my head off a bit.

Mochrie recently explained the points calculation to determine MVP. It’s based on takedowns, leading categories for your team or the whole game, minus time spent dead. Morales never died and had a lot of takedowns so her mvp points totaled the highest.

Hey pally! Nice work! Actually I like more the lost soul talent over the festering wounds on level 7 overall... but especially here! you picked well against that more diving comp where you need haunting wave to escape more than a mean to deal more damage. Hope to see some more Sylvananas vids 😄

It's more dangerous to have to stack your trait manually. You will lose trades badly that you could otherwise win. Using Haunting Wave to escape will not prevent that damage.

Thematically I love the Lost Soul talent, but until they change how dreadfully slow it is to stack her passive the Festering Wounds at 7 will almost always be the best choice. No need to escape if the enemy is dead. Plus you can instantly 3 stack a whole team and spread your W. Then get the double E talent at 13 instead of Remorseless(Which isn't as good as I wish it was) if you need an escape.

Q build is pretty potent, too, especially since kills reset the CD for it. The lvl 3 Merc talent is super nice on maps with Turrets like this one as well, as it empowers the turrets and they MELT down enemies.

Something I didn’t see very much of (which is funny because I seem to remember learning it from one of your videos) is using the banshee wave for damage. I’ve heard that’s a much better use for it now instead of just escapes. Especially if you wanted to pick the banshee wave talent at level 7.

Possession is best used on archers and catapults, but on a map with turrets you should be using the merc talent for damage increase to turrets it gives. holding Q down does nothing it has to recharge and the armor reduction on the W (shadow dagger) is very valuable when fighting on objectives.

Need festering souls for this. Shoot banshees through clumped up enemies and they all get three stacks and the dagger spreads to all of them as well so the stacks go through the roof.

Taunt is not only a silence tho, it makes the attacker focus on you with their attacks which can be quite interesting against pure autoattackers. Additionally mind control is a displacement effect too. Nonetheless it's interesting how Syl now is essentially a true ranged assassin, kinda makes me wanna pick the old girl for a couple of fights, although I am so gonna miss her ability to simply destroy a lane if left unchecked :S

For possession I find taking the tank minions is better for pushing the wave into an enemy building while taking the ranged minions is better for pushing the lane out of your own base. Tanks are better for pushing in because they can "tank" more tower shots letting heroes stay in longer Ranged dps minions are better for a "set it and forget it" mentality. Let the enemy wave slowly die while being unable to kill yours, letting the next wave combine with it creating a big push later. This of course falls apart if you just kill the tank minions while you're there possessing the ranged

I do like Mind Control when the team I'm up against allows for it. When I do, I nearly always take the 20 talent for it as well. In addition to the 5 seconds of vision reduction, it reduces the cooldown to something stupid like 15-20 seconds. You can literally siege up, and just start treating it like a Stitches hook. Land one and get a kill and siege harder.

So I think the auto attack range and 3-stacks-on-your-E talents are good for poke heavy comps, but since their team was very much dive in and attack, it seemed the armor reduction and W cool down talents were better picks. Sick dmg on sylv tho

If you have a zagara on your team with infest, you could possess more minions for her to buff. Or if the enemy team doesn't have good waveclear. That's the only time I would think to use it.

W build op but you have to take the E talents in ranked. Qm you can do anything but ranked people don't let you curse them so freely

If You think this is good Pally ... you should also try the Q build (withering/auto attk) = Single target/burst assassin build. The Dmg is even more f*** up. btw what's good about Syl now is that she has a really good amount of flexibility in her build. The two main builds she has are Q (withering/auto attk) build or W (dagger) But the amount of sup build combination is what makes her so good right now. For example, you can decide to go for the support E rout and gaining more 3 stacks (making every dagger count). The same goes for other builds as well.

I don't recommend her for QM, because she's real easy to dive, and you'll rarely get a strong frontline. Best to stand on top of a time trap in that situation, but it won't always save you. Her damage is mainly in her Q, so that's what I build. Piercing Sands at 18 is a ludicrous damage increase. With setups in can chunk entire teams, but it's also good for wave clear/core defense.

Armor changes no longer stack; the highest positive armor buff and highest negative armor buff are all that is applied. Also Wailing Arrow's 20 doesn't debuff armor.

Maybe you wanna read abilities of reworked heroes that you haven’t played for a long time first? Her Q is working differently now and it makes no sense anymore to just hold down Q to then fire all shots to minions instead of enemy heroes. And if you are about to die you should drop the turret before the enemy can just pick it up from you. Also you missed to use possession against minions a lot.

Pally. You gotta re-read those 20 talents :( You missed the best part of the Mind Control talent. And the Wailing Arrow does 50% more damage, it doesn't reduce armor. Negative armor can never go below -25%. The Q talent at 20 is unfortunately pretty garbage, because Q itself is pretty garbage unless you fully talent it.

Mind Control is only good if you team is aggressive. Tanking on Sylv isn’t a good idea. Possession is pretty weak if you can stutter step and keep range until you have to chase a kill. Could’ve done better but your talents were kinda all over. That and Hanamura obj is still weaksauce.

Mind control isn't just a silence, it's more of a polymorph plus you force them to walk to you(bar Sgt hammer) Arrow is obviously the pick most of the time but mind control gives you that 100% kill guarantee on anything

After hearing all the things from your chat, I don't think you should be listening to your chat. You want unstable poison to delete waves almost as soon as they appear and wailing arrow is a huge part of your burst damage combo to 100-0 people in an AoE, especially with the silence

Have to use it on tanks that dive backline. By the time he walks back to his team, he got 3 stacks and you can dagger him. Or take Festering Wound, so you can use E to apply stacks.
